I love this story!
Don't be intimidated by the length of this manga, theres so many chapters worth the wait!
[Droool...]
People say that it is starting to drag, and thats kinda true.. But only because releases vary from once to twice a month and the lack of action atm is driving us all insane! (Its true. Admit it xD)
But soon.. Soon... I hope... It will start to get really interesting again^^

This is the best story ever. It's not dragging. The development of emotional maturity, the comedic aspect, the likeable cast, the steady even pacing. This story might be a miracle. The author is amazing. I love OP but even that has a formulaic set up. There's no such thing in this one. The only other story I've read with such beautifully displayed emotional appeal was Ao Haru Ride and that one couldn't keep up with the awesomeness. This story does.
I take breaks- to allow arcs to build and translations to smooth out. That way, my understanding doesn't suffer. The releases are not quick and the complex feelings involved take some thought, so this way, I find, is best. I was so surprised when the 20th anniversary was announced, but the only aspect of the manga that has really changed is the sharper images.
The author's story telling abilities are top notch.

It was extremely draggy. The love barely progressed/progresses. One of the frustrating things is the amount of time it takes for the chapters to come out. And so I gave up. I don't have the time or patience. But it was worth reading to the last chapters. I guess. Note: The art creeped me out a bit. Especially the faces.

I´m currently watching skip beat and i have to say it´s really good... I never watched an anime before reading the manga but to be honest i never thought it would be that good... it really makes you laugh in every part!!! and kyoko is absolutly my favourite charackter!!! And I love how she gets angry... (those little ghosts are really scary) I recommend this manga and of course the anime to everyone who likes something new and hates those typical shoujo girls (moe kare... yes I hate that hikari girl!!!) ...anyway i think ren is really cool... I hope they get together in the end!!!

If you're trying to find a manga that's even comparable to Skip Beat, forget it. It's sad, but trust me, I've tried, and it doesn't exist.
Simply the best the manga world has to offer. For girls obviously, but also for guys (I'm one of 'em).

The greatest thing in this manga is probably the characters.
The characters are special. Kyoko is a sassy girl who's going to take revenge on her ex-lover. She starts out as a total newbie in the entertainment world, and how she developes is a key point in the story.
She isn't the only character who is interesting. The side characters have much interesting sides and development as well. If one thing is for sure, you'll be very entertained while watching how the characters change.
The speech between the characters are great in showing how the characters are feeling (with a side of comedy on top).
The only problem I have is that the art seems a bit awkward at first, but as you go on, the art will just seem as lovely as any other art in any other manga,

This is one of the best manga I ever read (and I read a lot !).
Classifying it as a "shoujo" can be misleading, sure there is a (several ?) romance but in my not so humble opinion that is not the real subject of the manga. Rather, what I see is a shounen on acting with a girl as the hero and some romantic attachments.
Which might explain why I'm so enthusiastic over the latest developments contrary to some of the shoujo readers that would prefer to see more romantic progress : it is my feeling that the recent arcs have been concentrating on the actress Kyoko rather than on the woman, it is therefore understandable that some of the readers that were waiting for further romantic involvements were disappointed but for a non-prejudiced (sic) person, the latest volumes have been extremely satisfying !
I love this manga : drawing style (realism isn't what I'm searching for in a manga anyways and at least there isn't too much SD), story, characters... they're all amazing. You can't help but love Kyoko (the main character) and the cast around her is funny and varied.
This is a "must read" among the mass of average manga we're seeing today.

I like this manga so much, I have read lots of manga but I never found anything as interesting as this one. Every character at this manga is so alive, the story is unpredictable not like the usually manga storyline.
I love this manga so much looking forward to see the further stories and anime!

Ok there is much I have to say about this manga....
It is one of the best manga I have ever read....period.....
Within any category whether it may be Shonen or Shojo or Shonen ai or Shojo ai, this manga overcomes many flaws that the others fall victim to...
First off, Nakamura has the ability to create these unique characters(Which was also evident in Tokyo Crazy Paradise) which she does with such grace, that it is almost unfathomable to believe that such personalities were construed so perfectly.
The characters portray their images really well. For instance, When Kyoko was in love with Sho, she appeared delicate and innocent(which she was), but once Sho kicked her off the vanwagon, Her whole image changed, as did her personal attributes. Further examples would include Sho appearing as an egocentric jerk (based on appearance) which he is, and Ren appearing mysterious(based on appearance) which he is.
The Humor changes within every page of the manga. It can be mindless and somewhat juvenile, yet it can be deep and mature. In simplier terms, the humor context can either be right in front of your face or may require you to think at times(Which is rather refreshing if I must add...)
The manga isn't overpowered by any sentiment which is so invigorating, because I always find myself at times reading some redundant shojo, where the female protagonist either falls in love with some random stranger four seconds after meeting him, becomes victim to a house fire that killed her entire family or falls in love with multiple men, and engages in an orgy of emotions....That is shojo in all it's essence...
Skip Beat however is not like that all, It has a mix of different affluent feelings, all which are not drastically overdone, Unlike most manga in general...
Nakamura also creates that cliffhanger sensation, that one gets with a very addictive manga. This is story is very unpredicatable and that's a quality which I believe any good manga should possess.
Overall, my opinions towards this manga are stated quite clearly, It's a must read for any shojo lover, hell it's a must read for any manga lover...
This manga is definatley one you should tune in for(If you haven't already)
P.S - I've read threads where people have said that the art of this manga was horrible, and honestly I beg to differ...
The art is not perfect, but it is by no means"horrible". I'll consider the Skip Beat art to be an aquired taste, only because everyone is entitled to their own opinion...Although to those who said that they didn't like it....It get's a lot better by manga 5 ;D
