Description
Hanagasumi Highschool is located right in middle of Kabukichou, Tokyo's #1 red-light district. Because of this, the students are constantly robbed and harassed by yakuza, gangs, etc. In order to ensure the students' safety, the Student Council came up with one solution: befriend the legendary "Tiji-kun", the strongest man in Kabukichō. Two students, Motobu Tomoko and Akazawa Ryo, were assigned the task. But when they find out the true identity of the mysterious "Tiji-kun", having a peaceful school-life turns out to be harder than it seems.

Good, don't get me wrong, the twists are great, but it seems as if something is lacking. Although it's only 6 chapters in, but I am looking fore ward to more :]
its almost ok, if not for the the artist's inferior skills in paneling the narrative.
i've been following this manga since chapter 1, and i've come to notice that during certain sequences during the story it gets muddled (you wouldn't understand why the next panel jumped to a different direction). it becomes frustrating to the reader.

this is nothing like holyland. 1st the guy ain't weak he string and can punch through brass knuckles. 2nd hes not a crybaby he wants to get strong for a reason worth while not to just be accepted but some drug using pucks.
Weekly Shonen Magazine has another great series this year in the form of Tiji-kun!, and despite three chapters, already has my interests.
The main character, despite looking like a typical slacker, is actually a total badass who only aids those from the scums that constantly harass them and at the same time maintain a low profile from all but a few. In a way, I like the fact that the main character isn't a total wimp and his personality is different as well.
Hopefully this, along with Gamaran, stays around in WSM for a while.

This manga is shaping up to become something quite interesting. There's a degree of a greater plot and a few things left to uncover. The drawings are especially good and work well for this kind of setting. It would also seem to retain a form of realism and explain the techniques that are used. Definitely worth a read IMO!

Very few words can describe the main character. I'll say one word though, "GAR". Yes, this character has achieved epitome of manliness from the first chapter.
I am looking forward to reading this manga. I recommend this manga to all readers who love reading about male leads who kick ass without being corny, but cool.
