I have no idea what to rate this

I honestly didn't like the characters very much, except for the girl. She was actually likable! When reading through this series, I was wondering by it was so popular and so well liked.
Then, while reading, tears started streaming down my face! What in this manga had moved me so? When most of the characters are annoying? I don't know, but it still made me cry. So much angst.

Anyways, overall, this manga has pretty good art, and a unique approach to the BL genre. Definetly different, and I'd recommend reading it and trying it out yourself!

Refreshing, but characters can be annoying...

The art was not phenomenal, but it wasn't necessarily bad either. It was just fine.

The story is very refreshing and raw... it's very different from other yaoi.

However, as interesting and engaging as the plot is, the characters are a bit... eh. Not so much the light-haired guy, he just has a goal, and he's going for it, but he doesn't put up with TOO much bullshit, which is good.
The guy I have an issue with is the dark-haired one. He has an awful personality.
He's perfectly fine with cheating in his relationships (MULTIPLE times), and he never takes responsibility, he writes it off as the other person's fault, saying his only fault is that he is "too agreeable". And then, when he finds out the person he was cheating on/with is also cheating, he gets all pissy about it.
He is a weak and limp man in that respect.
The second huge annoying thing about him is that he keeps sticking with this stupid mentality, "I'm not gay! I just like it when this guy touches me and sucks me off!"
This is an accurate and realistic representation of the "denial mentality", and it adds more depth to his character. However, it draws out for far too long. And at one point he even straight-up calls his lover a "fag" in a public area. It was a very irritating scene for a very irritating character.
I just don't find it too believable that anybody would be even remotely attracted to this weak-willed, lying, cheating, offensive man...

Despite that character, I think this is still worth reading if you want an interesting, emotional and in-depth story for such a short read.

So flawed, so perfect. Is this a new genre? Oh my goodness, is it jousei-BL? It's so genuine, honest, and unflowery. So unidealized, brutish--hngggg. Why aren't there more twisted titles like this? This kind of quality and rawness, I've only been able to find in rare fanfic and Queer as Folk until now!

The art style isn't the best, but the story and dialogue is amazing. We're not sorry that Kyouichi is not a Gary Stu. Get over it. He's not supposed to be likeable. He's supposed to be human. On the other hand, I found Imagase extremely likeable and interesting.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
He casually confesses his love while his boyfriend that he's practically living together with is in the background. He gets a vase or something thrown at him and he's all like 'idgaf'. It's a sick dedication, and that's just lovely lovely lovely.

Cliche? What? Are you blind? This goes against so many yaoi cliches I've ever known. You know how ukes magically are never able to shove the offender away and say no?
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Well, Ryouichi DOES. You know how seme are all more than enthusiastic about doing it with dubious consent? Well, Imagase called his BS and wouldn't let him use the excuse "I was forced", and let Ryouichi come to him instead.
Do you know how amazing that is? Do you?! Huh?! /jabs finger.

So many of you complain about how it's not love, but an obsession. And I'm like--and? Seriously, it's way more interesting like this. You complain about how the characters sleep around--and? Imagase's just using them as replacements. Even if he wasn't, I still wouldn't care. They're guys. What do you expect.

Do you know what line killed me beyond ecstasy?
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
It's not like I'm thinking I'll be with you forever.

/swoon~swoon~~oh my god I love this author so much asdahkdglakdjhgaldg

That was a masterpiece. Onto the sequel!

Please read this and the sequel- together, they make a truly beautiful story. It's powerful and resounding- the characters aren't likable, but at the same time, they are. You somehow grow to like them, or at the very least, identify and empathize with them. Their flaws are real, and their relationship is far, far from perfect, but you still root for them, and hope for them despite that. I think it takes real skill to spin a story that can make that happen. It's complex and a bit dishearteningly dark, almost, but I would read it anyway. Please give this a chance and read all of it before you judge it- it really is amazing. Honestly one of the best.

I don't understand how anyone can give this more than a 5. Bad art, absurd story, and horrible characters. I'd put it on the same level as Junjou Romantica.
The story is pretty cliche and generic in a bad way, not to mention very predictable. I guess people like this becuase they feel identified with it?
The only genuinly good part was when they showed what the main character's relationship with his wife was like. It felt realistic, and it was the only thing in the whole book that peaked my interest.

Like any other of Mizushiro-san's work (Afterschool Nightmare), her stories are always nicely paced, great plot, well developed characters, but best of all her cliff-hangers leave you breathless and always wanting more. I can see this story in other yaoi mangas but the slow/lonely atmosphere of this manga is just heart-wrenching. Only a few mangakas are able to deeply move their readers, so just give it a shot.

When people comment that this story is "BEAUTIFUL, EPIC, PURE, a MASTERPIECE," you better "believe it!" (Naruto pun, hah coudn't resist).

It has a completely different felling of anything I've ever read before! I mean, I could sense reality in it, not such a far-fetched plot that so many other mangas have. It passed me such a warm thing, even though the main character has not the best qualities that makes everybody like the main characters, he is unique and made me like his bad personality (and his has not that kind of common bad personality that everybody likes). Anyway, it really is worth reading and all those fan-girls who say that they can't find a good plot here is it!

it's the first time i give an excellent to a manga... (yeah, i'm that tough)
but this is really an outstanding work!, the art!!.., omg the PLOT!!!!.. freaking amazing!!
it's the reality of couple! it truly is perfect according to me! ,cause normally the yaoi we are used to..it's kind of ..really "the same", u understand they kind of love each-other, n suffer a little cause always the uke it's kidnapped (u know it's true!!, n it doesn't have anything wrong with it!! i'm a sucker 4 Stockholm syndrome) LOL
but it's nothing like this, in this story u really see the suffering a gay couple has to go trough!, and specially one that was a previously straight man in it..
this plot was brilliant!
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
i almost cried when i saw all the suffering my poor imagase had to go trought, and the poor other guy!!,
MAAAN HE'S SO DAMN CONFUSED!!
the poor idiot didn't knew which way was north or which was south!
and i imagine that, IT IS a REALLY new and confusing situation the one he's in!
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
the not sure i'm gay and not sure i even like u-kind of thinking
.... i get it!!! i really do! BUT .. MAN! he really is indecisive right!? LOL,
but i really enjoyed the confusion, the (i dunno if im really gay-kind of plot), the i'll love u until the earth blows apart-kind of seme, and the way they were sooo open with their feelings, doubts and fears! it was really magnificent!

i seldom read yaoi. i only do when it was highly recommended or if it intrigues me. and when it was written by a shoujo author <have you read Sakura Gari by Watase Yuu-sensei? then you now what i mean) . i mean i ve read works done by Mizuno-sensei and they were really dark with complex, dark, imperfect characters, which i happen to like more than your average bishies. and i dont have a problem with the art. so.. yeah the stroytelling of this one is really, omigawd. its like.. flashback pops out from nowhere. insert important moment her and le wild flashbakc suddenly appears. awesome. i dont hate the charcters. though the main protagonist is really, i wont sat weak or loser-ish just relly phlegmatic and easy to get while the other one imagase, i really aggressive and obsessive which is a nice duo for disaster. the opening was cliched, but i can see no better way and it was awesome that the hole story didnt revoolve around that.. i would have never read this if this is some kind of cheap yaoi or something. so yeah..
