Description
"Progressive Rejuvenation Syndrome." This is an extremely rare disease causing the inflicted person to gradually become younger. The main character of this story, Munenori Agawa, is the only person that could save Rena Amami from this odd disease. Agawa's saliva is the only thing that can halt the disease from making Rena younger, so they must kiss everyday in order for her to survive. This causes an immense amount of conflict and drama between Agawa and his new girlfriend, Sayako Asou. This triangle relationship story tests the capabilities and limitations of human love.

A rare combination

Merely saying it's good probably doesn't do it justice. It is a combination of good art and storytelling. The drama is real and intense at times, yet not overdone and overblown. The characters manage to successfully express their thoughts (AMEN to that) instead of pointless bogging down the story, act in a believable way (for a real human) and are more than just a mishmash of stereotypes.

Yet even when it's a decidedly realistic story, it still does its job as a work of fiction : providing ample entertainment along the way, instead of just depicting the gritty realism of human relationships for the sake of realism. I have a high opinion of this manga, having read the first 4 volumes.

Aside from whether Rena's disease is a pure fiction, I like how the characters deal with it. This manga indeed contains adult materials, but they're not mind-wrecking. Instead, it's kinda encouraging, slice-of-life things. The idea is so original. The plot is solid and awesome. Rena who can't live without Agawa's kiss, even though they don't love each other. And Asou, Agawa's girlfriend who has to deal with Rena. How Asou-Agawa's love development despite Rena's problem. How Rena deal with her family and her dream-boy (which is, thank god, not Agawa) about her disease.Everything's wrapped beautifully.
Asou is a great woman, and she's my favorite character here smile
Anyway, if you're 18+, fine with some nudity, and tired of stupid smut or shallow shoujo ordinary plot, I highly recommend this manga. Super interesting.

It has pretty good romance - both counterparts have different social status yet guy, being inferior, doesn't afraid to play male part in relationship since he decided he's in love. His girlfriend is no idiot either. Some nice dialogue there. It's not just some romance about teenagers, mc-s are grown-ups who understand what they are doing (well, most of the time). And then sci-fi element is thrown in so couple has to accept a young girl in their every-day life, with loads of comedy and drama. The art is good too.
Overall a very good manga. Sometimes I just found manga that nobody ever told me about and it turns out awesome. This is one of those cases.

it's rare to have some mature(in real matue not teenage) romance in manga to be serious a nice change from overage series flooding the scene
I hope more translators keep these unknown gems

if you are bored with usual romance manga, read this one!
this particular piece is well played, he introduced one weird thing and let everything flow naturally. the mangaka is a genius by letting his characters belief/regret/or anything emotional clash through rather violent conversations. you can feel the depth of the drama through those conversations, and readily sympathize with them. they are very enjoyable, and that's what's made me wait for the next installment come out.

Rushed ending because magazine was cancelled

The ending is abrupt, but it wasn't really the author's fault: the magazine this was in got cancelled and it was too close to his planned ending to get picked up by another magazine. So he just had to wrap it up in the time he had left.

Best since "Strawberry 100%"

Both manga have the terrific quality of showing us highly believable, somewhat idealized relationships. Of course the semi-lolicon subplot in this one is absurd, but the depth of understanding of the amazing messes that people can get into when they're trying to work out a relationship is as spot on here as it was in "Strawberry". The only difference is that "Strawberry" had younger characters

As for the semi-loli subtext, well, having it in there is just another example of the unique genius of manga, IMHO. Having read literally thousands of manga, I've come to realize that having an element in the story that's JUST over the line of standard morality is the genius of this form.

Cartoons with titillation. It's a brilliant combination! The use of cartoons is a great advantage for the storyteller because it make it possible for him to present impossibly beautiful people and impossible adventures. The addition of slightly transgressive titillation elements in turn makes up for the one great drawback of cartoons -- there can't be enough text/conversation in them to fully convey the characters' feelings and thoughts and by doing so hold the interest of a smart and/or adult reader.

This is one of the best manga I've ever read. As far as I'm concerned it shows how amazingly much truth about human feelings a cartoon medium can convey.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The ending is a bit rushed to me, I was happy with the epilogue but the last conflict wasn't wrapped up well and a solution to the main plot was conveniently found in just 4 panels. But it did end beautifully, however I am very conflicted with it. On the one hand I am glad the heroine grew up and was able to get on her own feet, possibly having a new romance, but the other I felt the threesome was very genuine and while glad they have a reunion it kinda became parents and child. There were also a few unnecessary conflicts imo.

But anyway it's a heartwrencher this one, definitely a good read.

Unforeseen twists riddle the four volumes I've read so far, and I must say that I've enjoyed every second of it. The anticipation builds and your heart beats faster, you even realize that you're starting to hold your breath, and then it peaks and you feel that rush of excitement flood through your body. That's the kind of experience you get in every chapter. With that in mind, this is a manga you don't want to miss.
