Wow, the number of negative comments... Well, I for one, really enjoyed this manga. It was refreshing and, shocker of all shockers, pretty realistic and portrays an actual healthy relationship (for a shoujo manga anyway).
All in all, a sweet love story. I hope to find me someone who is like the person Suzume ultimately ends up with.

First loves aren't the end all and be all of relationships. And even though Sensei was purposefully trying to push Suzume away when he broke up with her, all of the things he said made sense. What they had was NOT a healthy relationship. He made her doubt herself, made her want to rebuild her entire self around one person. As Mamura pointed out, Sensei made Suzume weak.
Mamura, on the other hand, built Suzume up. He made her brave, made her feel calm and safe. Even though he isn't as articulate, like Suzume said, he was always there for her, never pressuring her to do anything she wasn't uncomfortable with. He even encouraged her to go find Sensei because he knew that's what the girl he loved needed to do. Even though he was younger, he seems more mature and responsible than Sensei by far.

I really liked the art, which was fashionable, neat and proportionate. The story was also nice. It was still shoujo, but it wasn't just a patchwork of clichés. Characters were generally interesting- and likeable although I agree that Mamura was a bit of a static character. Personally I liked the ending, but I do feel that it's somewhat of a shame that the heroine invested so much time with both love interests. I am at a loss as to which couple to root for and this detracts from the overall satisfaction with the ending. I really did prefer her friend's love story though, which was sweet&fulfilling.

It felt like the mangaka gave up half way through. The start up was good but wasn't utilized properly. The characters and plot were predictable. The ending felt like a roller-coaster ride that ends once you reach the top. To put it simply one romance felt real while the other felt rushed and unsatisfying. It's just my view point but it had the potential to be so much better.

it's so so so SO nice to finally see a shoujo where the heroine ends up with the "second" guy -- the one who loves her better, who treats her better, who she has a healthier relationship with... it's so refreshing and i'm so happy she and mamura are their cute lovely adorable selves. :'D
Finally!

Loved the ending, no matter what anyone says. But Jesus Christ, the amount of crap that had to be shuffled through to even get to that point.

The angst got annoying real fast, sure, but I think the fact that she didn't end up with sensei was extremely refreshing. I hate love triangles by default because their always so friggen obvious but this one wasn't like that at all. In damn near every other shoujo manga like this, she would have certainly ended up with the teacher. I think it's just realistic that she'd end up with mamura instead. Or something like that. Honestly, I'm just glad it didn't follow the typical love triangle cliche.
Still, it was overall, an alright read, that is to say, I'd never read this again just for shits and giggles. To much stress.

So there are a bunch of haters here, but I loved this. It was adorable. The art was fantastic and the characters weren't silly, petty, or dumb. In my opinion, the ending was absolutely perfect. I'm keeping it short, but basically, I have nothing but good things to say about this one.

The author was so upset about how people only read this online for free and how it was unfair, and then she goes and pulls this on us. Well, no freaking wonder why we only read this because it's free. I buy a decent amount of manga (used to be a lot, but ran out of space), I'm glad I didn't buy this. It doesn't deserve it.
The art was good in this manga. The writing and plot and romance was mediocre, and the characters were also mediocre. Except for Shishio-sensei, really. He was off-beat and charming. I don't care for kuudere types like Mamura; he can be cute, but tbh he's really boring, and he had minimal character development.
The ending was rushed and out of nowhere and unsatisfactory, and not believable at all. Utter bullcrap and a waste of time.
smh

There was no need to bait a Shizume ending.
It felt like she changed it last minute to go according to whom most fans were rooting for instead (wait, most people like Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Mamura
better, right? according to what I've observed)Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Mamura and Suzume have poor chemistry.
Not that Suzume and Shishio had the best chemistry either, but theirs at least worked somewhat.smh

ahhhh,, oh my i thought she was going to end with sensei .. i feel so sad for the all those trials and love triangles that happened!! and i thought mamura will find a new girl who will give everything to him because he is a super good person w/ a virgin heart!! .. But i have no choice because sensei ends up this manga with a shocking revelation. and i don't find suzume annoying so it's fine that she end's up with mamura ... I wish that i will find a man like mamura

Despite the negative comments about the ending being Mazume instead of Shizume, I had no problem with it. In fact, if Shishio really wanted to be with Suzume, then he should have went for it, and not wait until the very end to tell her his feelings. On the contrary, I liked Mamura, I liked his persistence, I like how he never gave up on expressing his feelings. To me, that is more valuable than someone who hides their own feelings 'for the sake of the other person'.
NOT recommended.

The ending, the ""Mamura has always been my daytime shooting star"", and the whole love triangle thing is a complete crap.
I honestly loved it at first. It was a very enjoyable read at first. It changed when the author just threw in the Mazume ending when she obviously hinted Shizume ending in the previous chapters. What? The ""Mamura has always been my daytime shooting star"" thing? Bullshit. Yamamori, if you wanted to make Mazume the endgame, at least don't throw in the (actually) pointless hints of Shizume. I sound like I'm not happy because Mazume is the endgame, but trust me, it's beyond that. I'm ??? 'ed by Yamamori's terrible story writing.
To be honest, I really dislike Mamura... I mean, he hated all girls just because a freaking divorce? Really? And Suzume is like, the only exception? Nonsense. That made me cringe. This, in ANY way, DOESN'T excuse his terrible behavior around girls aka misogyny. Ew. He didn't have any character development, just like any other character in the series (except Sensei, of course). The only character who went through character development is like, only Sensei. For heaven's sake, Sensei deserved better. In the end, he wasn't a protagonist, and after going through the hell, he only got two beers. That's it. Sensei's ending. Woah, thanks, Yamamori. You couldn't have done better! (claps) I thought Sensei's role was important to the story. He was Suzume's first love story, the first person Suzume met in Tokyo, and he was the one with the title ""daytime shooting star""? Eh, but, I must be wrong. In the end, Sensei was nothing but a man who got two beers when he obviously was miserable for, like, 25+ chapters? Or is it 30+? Right.
So, yeah. That's it. Mamura was the daytime shooting star all along. Shishio? Who's Shishio? Tsk.
This series had a great potential, but sadly, it went downhill. It went into a complete nonsensical, crappy manga. You will waste your time if you read this, except you read this manga only for its art. Sorry, but I'm not sorry.
