I loved this book. I agreed that the translation of the last story sounded unnatural and I personally had prefer regular english and not the strange "dialect effect" that the translator tried. My fav story is the first one about a ballet dancer and an actor but I enjoyed the other stories as well. What I most liked is the fact that the stories are mature and not the conventional "uke-seme" yaoi. The art is exquisite and different, maybe looks strange at first but is definitely a great complement to the stories.

I agree with Voraciouszest's comment. This is a perfect blend of josei and BL. Each of the 6 short stories is a snapshot of a moment in a relationship between two people. Readers will either love it, or they simply won't "get" the stories at all!
The translation by self confessed fan, Matt Thorn, for Deux (Aurora Publishing) is excellent, although possibly somewhat heavy handed with the pseudo "dialect" in the last story. If these stories were prose, they would win awards for literary writing. As they are - you get the bonus of the mangaka's distinctive artwork to go complement these lovely stories. Highly recommended.

This is a good collection of short stories ranging from all themes and backgrounds. Each and every one of the stories has their own unique personalities and I truly enjoyed them whole-heartedly from beginning to end. The pacing, panelling, characters designs, development, everything just perfectly fits in its rightful place, so much so that I'm having really a hard time trying to find any flaw at all in the whole manga.

for me, her best manga. I read Orokamono wa Aka wo Kirau (red blinds the foolish), which is said to be her best work, but i still prefer seduce me after the show. i tell you this the best quality manga you could find around, and i'm said to be very picky !
seduce me after the show is a gem. the stories are very mature, with few words, but a big load of emotional strain. after reading it you can't help but feel sad and hopeful at the same time. this manga is really about what life is really like.
Besides there are stories with an italian setting, (and a hot spanish mixed race character !! ), and i love homosexual love stories that take place either in italy or in spain.
i loved the last story it was so heart rending ! and i found it well translated. in many mangas the kyoto accent is reproduced using stuff like "yeh" instead of "you" or "e" instead of "he".
to conclude i'd say that seduce me after the show is a must read !

Poetic and Angsty

Seduce Me After the Show is of a different standard than most yaoi titles. The stories are poetic and angsty. They portray a different and more realistic view of homosexuality for men of this era. The stories range from a dancer and his Hollywood lover to a man in search of the lover he hasn't seen for forty years.
Be aware, though, that the stories tend to end right in the middle or have no real conclusion. The art is unique, but a little heavy.
