Not bad at all, despite the ratings

Unlike most horror stories, which rely solely on gore to provide "entertainment," the deaths in Book Club have a fairly intriguing mystery behind them that's revealed at an acceptable pace. The plot's not worthy of a good quality detective story, no, but it's interesting enough to save this manhwa from falling into the cesspit of mediocrity that is most of the horror genre. I was actually quite taken aback - in a good way - by the events in the last few chapters.

And I don't really get why VampireBanana's complaining about the characters' lack of emotion. They're about as emotional as the cast of a story of this nature can afford to be without descending into hysterics. No one reads horror for the realistic portrayal of people's reactions to unexpected deaths, after all.

This reminds me of The Ring and The Grudge. One came out of a Television, and the Grudge came out of.............Now we got this manga where horror comes out of a book. It's stiff and dull character doesn't make me want to continue reading it. However, if artist do a psychological type of manga make sure it keeps the reader on the edge or their seats!!~

Not bad but also not that interesting

The horror is really not bad, though a little lacking at times but it's also a pity that the characters are a little boring and too detached from one another. They tend to behave as though they don't really have any relations with one another. Though they claim to know one another, their feelings for one another are often superficial.

I'll say that the art is very pretty and gorgeous, though. So if you're into visual horror, then this will fill your needs. But if you're searching for something with more oomph, I'm sure there're many better titles out there.
