Like a beauiful unfinished painting. Would read again.

First off, I can say that the first few chapters may give the false impression that it will be Shotacon.....It's not, so don't worry. Also the translations can at times make it hard to understand what's going on, even though the grammar & spelling are not bad. & literally the only offputting thing about the art is the undersized jaws. Other than that the men are breathtaking beauties. The MC doesn't tell you his name until chapter 26. lol. This mangaka is a must for anyone with a long-haired-bishounen fetish.

I came for the art, but the relationship dynamic was unique & caught my attention. Demons serm to be polyamerous & feed off eachother's sexual energy.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The white demon; Sya, makes a contract for a human wife. A "young girl" Ley, already on death's door takes down all of his ads & is the only candidate. After the contract is made the new bride turns out to be a boy. Sya interestingly enough has some kind of morals against sleeping with underaged kids & never consumate their marriage & raises him like a son. The boy's health declines rapidly due to Tuburculosis & a bad habit of picking poisonous herbs to make teas with. One day, Sya finds the boy dead in the garden.

Sya turns the Ley into a Frankenstein project, making contracts with other humans for their body parts or sences such as sight & hearing. The parts have the weird side effect of making the boy randomly transform into an adult man. When this happens, he is the husband & the demon is his wife. Otherwise the pass for mother & son, due to Sya bring indestinguishable from a woman unless naked.

Both Leh a handsome lesser black haired demon; Jya, are apparently in love with Sya, but Jya also has an equally complicated relationship with a Cherub he found that quickly grows into an Angel. The angel fell in love with him right away. Jya has strong sexual tension with the angel, who has the mental capacity of a toddler, but also seems him as an annoying disposible source of food. When Jya pimps the angel out to another demon & breaks his heart, Sya seemingly dumps him & takes the angel away. Jya for reasons he cannot fathom, feels compelled to retrieve his angel, whos love for him has turned to deep hatred. Jya explains that all demons were once angels & gives his "stupid bird" a choice between becoming a demon & death. When his angel rejects his proposal, he offers half his life to keep the angel he nearly killed alive.

As for Ley, he has completely different personalities depending on his age. As sn adult, he wants Sya to stop trying to risk his health trying to make his son whole & to love him as a man. He becomes increasingly posessive of Sya, jealous of Jya & the angel, mostly jealous of his own child self, & more infuriated with Sya for disreguarding his wish to remain an adult & accept him as a lover.

In between the demons' complex immoral relationships are the often tragic romances between attractive noble youths who make contracts with the devil.

The fashion in this manhua is an interesting mix of Hanfu, Renaissance, & Colonial that makes it impossible to tell what time period this is supposed to take place in.

Sadly, the manhwa just ends with it being vague how either relationship ends, much like another manhwa called Delivery Boy Debacle. Still, I found it inspirational & prefer where Jya & Stupid Bird end off over the depressing end of Tetius & Zardi from Seimaden, which may be a manga that could have partially inspired this series.

Rushed/Axed

Its true that this thing is confusing. I had it bookmarked and waited until it finished fully before I started reading. In which case I thought it was really good. If you read it all at once, the tide sweeps you and its fully captivating. There were many many unconcluded tangents, but I still enjoyed them. Id say that the ideas that the author were using were fairly complex and that is why it is so confusing, in addition to Korean mindsets that are hard to comprehend. Its really true that this story was written very sloppily and I have no idea if, at those times, the author's dialogue was incomprehensible or if it was the translator's fault. But it played on unique themes and elements and was not afraid to be realistically tragic, properly evoking my emotions.
My score was weighted mostly with how much I enjoyed the book. If I scored the clarity of the story itself, it would probably be a 3.

Fresh idea, Horrible ending

The whole idea of the manhwa is good. The execution, messy and confusing. There were SO many times they were going to lose me long the way and left me to wondering what story I was really reading. I love the originality and idea of the whole storyline, but there were so many unexplained things and confusing dialougues. By the end I couldn't understand half of what was going on. The transitioning was horrible. I didn't know where one series of events ended and started. The main couple also starts to bcome very annoying and boring as the demon/angel couple takes it's place. However, they didn't get enough screen time as well, til the end and even so that just ends in the most unfinshed/unsatisfying way possible. I say give it a read, but when you've lose interest then either skip to the end or just put it down, bcause it wouldn't make a difference. Both of them will feel like a cliffhanger.

I've read about 13 chapters, and I don't think I can continue with this one. It's terribly confusing; its narrative jumps all over with no rhyme or reason; there are like a TON of confusing, glaring plot holes.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
e.g., in the first story, when the son is replaced with another in the room where he's supposed to service the mercenaries. If he was replaced all the time, then how the hell he wished for the man holding him to turn out to be his beloved? (because in this case no one held him at all); and how come his beloved didn't understand that that's the wrong person? If he was replaced only this once, then why his beloved is glad about this and says something about his father loving him after all and saving him in this way? Is making your son get raped and helping him only once - mercy?
Stupid and disjointed as hell, excuse me my language.
Art is nothing more than OK.
It's just... I've been waiting for the translation of this manhwa to be finished for about 7-8 years, and for it to turn out to be SO bad... this disappoints me.

Not bad, but nothing much either

As sad as it was, it was confusing as well. I didn't get even a bit from the ending. It is like the reader is kept hangi g. My favorites were Jya and the Bird. So sweet. Anyway, it was a sweet story. And there is this moment that almost made me cry:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
When that guy raped the Angel boy, and Sya and Jya came afterwards. The moment the Angel boy enclosed his "tainted", covered in blood and injuries body in his wings, saying "sorry..." as if he was an eyesore and something so shameful and disgusting to look at.

That was so heart- tearing i just couldn't handle it.

ART

It's really an acquired taste. I find it beautiful, but it really is the type of art that needs good quality scans or else it's a big mess. Her stories and characters are not really too my taste but the art makes me enjoy the ride.

The art is scary ugly. It's like one of those guys who draws people with exaggerated features at a fair did the artwork. Even if I was into yaoi, the art sucks hard. Doesn't even really look much like people anymore. More like aliens lol.

I wish this manga was available in my country just so I go out and buy all the volumes! The art is so beautiful, I was completely into the manga from the start. The plot is different to a normal shounen-ai and I have to say, I'm not disappointed!

...I did not enjoy this manwha. I have to say the art has gotten worse compared to boy princess. I am very dissapointed in this series. I read the first volume and the first one or two chapters look interesting enough but after that it goes all down hill. You can predict almost everything that was going to happen. It was very cliche to the point I was going to rip out my hair in fustration, I never gave any manga/manwha I've read a rating this low. This MIGHT be a good read for first time (shoujo readers going to) shounen ai or if you just like these types of manga/manwha. I'll warn people who have read shounen-ai/yaoi and want an actual SOLID story plot/cliches that doesn't jump around everywhere (and don't want to waste your time), go look else where. If this manwha gets ANY better than I will increase my rating. (oh, I apologize if I offended anyone who adores this manwha. but, I never read a manwha that irritated me so much to write such a harsh review, again sorry to you people)

Aight Art, but good Story

The art is soooooo bad based on some people, but there are some beautiful moments in this manhwa. For example, the background, clothing, other details is pretty well-drawn! Now, the artist/author just needs to improve in character designs, but I suppose in Korea they like slenderness? I have no idea, since it didn't originate in Japan there's certainly some difference.
So pineapple!

But the plot is pretty nice, I like all this fantasy stuff, so I'm giving this a high rating.
