It's kinda tiring reading this

I know it's a twenty-year old manga, but damn I just had to leave a review.
I was so tired reading this because it was just full of useless drama. Story was way too dramatized that it felt flat instead. Characters are just so one-dimensional, but the author really forced some depth into them that it was so cringe and annoying. This manga portrayed manga like it was a gift from God and the mangakas were like some sort of, what, prophet or preacher etc, it's just so annoying.
Honestly I have no idea why I kept reading this, because I hated every second of it. The art was amazing though

... is better than the story. It's so overdone. Drama llama, and making manga into some sort of holy occupation that supersedes all else in the world and in life. The art is good, but the characters are so... character-ish, that they feel cartoony instead of relatable.
I forced myself to finish this one.

the manga is great and exciting, i read as fast as i could. but when it get to ch16 with the breakdown, i breakdown myself and i cant stop crying my heart out until the end. to lose something so magical, incredible and beautiful....there is nothing that could describe the hopeless, dark, despair that i felt.
the characters are very interesting, though i cant understand the selfishness some of them have, i still feel they are important to move the plot as good as it is. the romance is....quite singular. it is different and it is painful, but it turn out all right in the end.i really like it that this manga have a happy ending, but not in an ideal way. highly recommended.

I enjoyed this short manga while taking a defensive driving course online, and It was amazing how often I'd completely forget about my surroundings. Each character has a depth and development that makes them unique, and the mature bits scattered throughout the story make this an enjoyable seinen series.

Not much to say, other then the fact that everything was filled. Emotions and the conflicts were resolved. The main characters were explored from many angles and the ending was breathtaking.

Character development and art support the plot for 3 volumes. The whole story is finished and doesn't seem to be missing anything. Oh, and it seems as though everything was for the last chapter, so I think - It's complete in every way.
It's interesting and very enjoyable, so I'm keeping it as fav.

First things first. This is not a series for everyone. Its not one that the average individual can relate to on most, if any level. The amount of angst, self-loathing, rage and general downer mood of it is not something that, everyone can stomach. It lacks all the comforts that readers have grown associated with. This is not a hurt and comfort story or that softens the pain with humor. What you have here is nothing more than drama and angst at its roots.
That being said, what you have is something that can only be considered a work of pure and simple brilliance. Its the kinda work that once you put down, start from the beginning again. A work of simple and pure magic. Unique beyond belief, running along the lines of series like Onnanai Kurosawa , you know you;ll never see a manga quite like this ever again.
Unlike most manga you probably won't find a character that represents you or some sort of common ground that links you to it. Its not a manga about ordinary people achieving greatness or dreams, nor is it a manga about broken people finding an outlet. Its a manga about those few blessed with more talent than they know what to do with trying to live to live up to the destiny before them. Being hurt, hurting others as they struggle not to live, but to exist in the world. You don't get characters, you get people whose depth, make oceans seem shallow and are as confused about themselves as the most disturbed amongst us are.
The story telling and pacing are on unreal, each page more interesting the previous. Its a fresh story the likes of you haven't seen before. While stories about manga-ka aren't common by any means. This one takes a completely different direction from any that you've read before. The art style at first seems a bit awkward and shaky, but quickly becomes apparent that it simply fits the story as well as improves as it goes on.
This is in the top 1 percentile in originality, story and character development. If all manga were like this then I could never stop reading

First of all, let me say that there are a lot of good things about this manga. The main character does grow and develop in interesting ways as the manga goes on. Relationships are certainly more complex than they are typically portrayed in most mangas, though I would still stop short of calling them realistic. I even kind of like the art style. It's different from the norm, but different can be good.
That said, I have a really hard time swallowing the message this manga seems to be trying to feed me, especially in the later chapters. Most of the characters are portrayed as schemers to the point of absurdity. Every business executive must be a megalomaniacal power-crazed villian. Every father subjects his son to eleborate psychological torture for the sake of making him grow, or something. And most of all, manga itself is treated like it's the second coming of Christ. I enjoy manga and all, but let's not overestimate its importance, OK? For a series that is supposed to have 'realistic' character interactions this certainly doesn't feel like it's grounded in reality.
If you want to read a manga that's about the real behind-the-scenes work of mangaka, then read Bakuman. If you want to read a crazy over-the-top portrayal of delusional individuals who think they are altering the fate of the world with every line they draw, then I guess you should read this.

An incredible read, powerful and gentle... Love the art too !
For bass3p : Well yeah, the main character is intensely dislikeable in the first chapter(s?) but that's one of the main interest of this manga, to see the evolution of the characters personalities, it's one of its great strength. Give it a try again and go a bit beyond the first chapter this time.
