S Vol. 2: A Love Bite
Detective Masaki Shiiba’s informant or “S,” Keigo Munechika, has proven himself to be an excellent source of information. But the payment of sex for every lead given is taking its toll on Shiiba. But with his new assignment as back-up to a fellow undercover detective, Shiiba learns that there are far worse things than having sex with your male S—falling helplessly in love with him, for example. S volume 2 continues the drama and passion between a detective and his spy set in the highly-charged underground world of Tokyo.
S Vol. 3: Split
For almost a year now, Shiiba has been using Keigo Munechika as his “S,” his spy, to get information on the gun dealings of the Yakuza world. Shiiba uses his body in exchange for Munechika’s sensitive information... and only his body as far as Shiiba is concerned. Shiiba vows their relationship will not go beyond that. But when a rowdy young man with a penchant for piercing and an enigmatic Yakuza leader cross paths with the young detective, sins of the past are unearthed once more-sins that just might shatter the fragile bond between the detective and his “S.”
S Vol. 4: Afterglow
At the end of S volume 3, detective Masaki Shiiba was last seen running away from the hospital room of his injured S, Keigo Munechika. Now, Shiiba has turned in his resignation, bought a gun of his own, and is bent on only one mission—to kill Takanari Godou. He vows to get the truth from Godou, even if he has to throw away his morals and life to do it. But can he do it? Can he shoot another person and commit cold-blooded murder for revenge? Less...

Absolutely the best japanese light novel i've read to date. The intricacy and detail, the plot and scenarios, the characters and their backgrounds, the drama, the sex and the romance all collide to create the perfect story... it had me hooked by chapter five and i devoured the rest in under a 24 hour span of time (started last night finished just now, would have read it even faster if not for irl responsibilities xD). I pretty much fell in love with Munechika and Shiiba's relationship, both the starting point and especially the ending point. There were alot of moments where i got very emotional, caught up in the story, i felt anger, sorrow and warmth, i even almost cried once. I really cant sing the praise of these novels loud enough.
Entretenidísimo

I've just finished reading the last chapter of vol 4. Amazing! Everything about it is captivating: the detective story mixed with the relationship between them, how their feelings are expressed, the atmosphere, all the characters. Although sometimes the explanations about the intelligence services were a bit too long, and -as it is in 4 volumes- there were some other explanations given twice, I find this book very enjoyable.

I really wanted to read this, but didn't have the funds for the hard copies. Thankfully they're up in the e-store for half the cost.
The novels start off slow (volume 1 is too wordy if you ask me, but I guess we do need the background), but once it gets going, it's a very good read. I like Shiiba, he's pretty stubborn when it comes to justice so his growth over the story is welcome. Munechika is slightly mysterious; they keep stressing that he's a very important player in the Yakuza, yet they insist he's not involved in that world. It's almost like they wanted him to be a "legal" Asami Ryuuichi.
The art was great, though some of the chosen scenes were a little odd. The translation was also great, I'm glad it shied away from the cheesy euphemisms that filled Sleeping with Money. I didn't like how they had to re-explain S work in every novel, though. Most people don't pick up number 2 or 3 before 1, so it seemed like filler.

I just love everything about this series, from the main characters to the side/supporting characters are all very engaging and lovable. The storyline is amazingly deep and twisted unlike the cliché cardboard cut-out plots and twists that you’d normally see in yaoi. I just simply love it!! The art is also freaking amazing.
I downloaded the first volume to check this out, but it was just soooo good I felt bad for downloading it so I bought all the 4 volumes straight away to support this very talented author, who is now one of my favourites!

I bought this novel from Akadot and read it soon when it arrived. This was the first novel that i've read and finished it only took 1 day. It's amazing cause i've a lot of yaoi novels and i've never finished it as when i'm on half book, i'll run to the end of the page book. he..he..It nice to read and i'm liking to follow the relationship between shiiba and munechika. The relationship was also not the rushing one so it's like you want to know what will happen next.. and so on. Beside this novel also detective story so of course you'll follow the story to know the running case. I've only read vol 1 so i can't give the rating now. But i think the next vol more interesting as there're more conflicts and hot stuff (he..hee)
Wow... I've finished it and it's awesome... vol 3 & 4 have a lot of conflict such as shiiba past which has relationship with godou.. and conflict between shiiba and munechika etc. I felt that godou is very cruel person and merciless however when i knew the past of him make me felt sorry and pity actually for him that can make u said "No wonder he become such a man nowadays". It's really great and enjoyable to read. The most my fav novel that even in english but it's very understandable and enjoy to read. I really high recommend this one.

This novels have gotten me obsessed. I can't not think about this novels when thinking about yaoi because they go hand in hand in my head. What I mean is that this is the perfect yaoi story
Beautiful story, erotic, sexy, nice character development, hot, addictive and wonderful are just some of the words to describe this novel. I recommend it to every yaoi fan because this is truly what yaoi should be about or at least for me. A true piece of work.

Lets begin with the fact that I'm not really into novels. I usually just read the famous one and really REAALLYY slowly. But for this novel, it wasn't the same thing.
S. Well the first thing that came to my mind when I heard the title was sadism. So I didn't really look into it just cause of that. I didn't even bother to read the summary.
Then after I ran out of yaoi manga, I thought about coming back to this again since it was so famous. I read the categories, the reviews and the summary for the first volume. I was instantly captivated. I wanted to read it no matter what so I bought it from emanga for like 5 bucks each which is pretty cheap.
When I started reading volume 1, I wasn't that impressed. It was slow. Wordy and just not enough BL going on. Being honest volume 1 took me the longest to read which was about a day and a half. Though it was wordy it was good. Midway through it gets real good.
From volume 2 on it gets so good, I can't even put it in words. The mystery, the romance, the twists. Everything is just amazing and out standing. As you read more, it gets better. It takes you away from reality.
Like I mentioned before, I'm not a fast reader but this novel proved me wrong. I finished the last 3 volumes in 2 days. It just wouldn't leave it alone. I read everywhere I got a chance.
If you're thinking just cause this novel is licensed and you don't wanna go through the trouble of buying it youre not gonna read it, you're missing out a lot. This novel is worth every cent paid for it. The author truely deserves it.
Do not miss out this master work! It's amazing and whoever reads it will not regret it. You have my word x)

After reading all four volumes, all i can say is WOW! it was absolutely an amazing novel from starting to end! I couldn't put it down once i started reading it. And i have read many yaoi novels before but hands down, this one is probably the best one so far! I It has all the element a reader could ask for. I definitely recommend this one! The romance between Shiiba and Munechika was so heart warming, i loved their relationship from starting to end.

Just GREAT! A very touching story, great character development and an almost perfect (realistic) ending to the series. You really feel for the characters and you know why they turned out the way they are or why they do the things they do or have done. I don't often rate manga/novels but when I do it's because it is just that good... In no time at all I had read through al 4 volumes of the novel. I would highly recommend this (to anyone!) ^_^
UPDATE: I just read it (all 4 vol.) for the third time... I've read a lot of other novels but I just keep coming back to this one! I love Shiiba and Munechika...
