I saw that this manga had been adapted to anime, so I was intrigued to see why it was so popular it had made it to television. But after reading the first chapter I'm thinking, 'why, out of all the amazing yaoi manga out there, did they choose this load of rubbish?'

*possible spoilers ahead*

Honestly, there was nothing heart-racing, sweet, or thrilling about this. You've got a bitter uke who has always been the best but now a younger actor has taken his place. This younger actor has ZERO morals and just forces himself on the uke straight away. The uke, who should be appalled by this actually seems to come round afterwards just because the seme confesses he's been thinking about him for a long time.
Um, what? Where's the backstory, the build up, the character development? It was just a huge put off right from the start.

How did this romance-less yaoi become an anime?!!

Netorare Triangle has blackmail and object rape, and that was just the first 9 pages. Non-con is not just in one story of the manga, it's a repetitive theme. Waste of good drawing.

Additional note: The point of telling any reader this is to make them aware, so they can avoid it if this is not their idea of entertainment. Too often the categories are incomplete (they were for this one when I first commented) so what looks like it might be comedy that is sexually explicit is in fact violent & sadistic sexual fantasy. Censorship is not on my agenda, informing people is.

It's astounding how much the quality of the manga picks up every time it veers away from sex. It still has rape and sexual assault though, and if you start to read from the very first chapter, it certainly feels like it's Stockholm syndrome.

It's possible to skip the skeevy parts. I recommend to start on Chapter 8 (or is it chapter 0?)--it's the point where they meet for the first time. Absolutely don't look back on the previous chapters. There's some character profiles on volume end if you find yourself lost who is who once you reach the "present" time frame.
