It’d be nice if Yoh had a little more time to train and mature but the Shaman Fight is only held once every 500 years, so he’s going to have to grow up fast.

The serialization ended in 2002 after 32 volumes leaving the story unresolved. Shueisha then released the Kanzen-ban (full version) and Renka-ban (cheap version) versions with additional pages and side stories resolving the plot.

the story gets worse and worse, character design is random as ever, protagonist now gets absolute power and confidence while his surrounding support characters get weaker and weaker, and battle ends even before i could realize what's happened. Most significantly, the creation of the character ChocoLove and its irrational events are a big fat flaws.

i know that Anna loves Yoh but she seems so willingly to place him in danger. she is willing to sacrifice him just so he can become shaman king, is the power more important to her, than Yoh's safety?? plus, i hate how all these murderers become nice people who love to joke around and have fun. it would be more believable to see someone try to change and make the effort. but the fact that someone can become a murderer and steal lives and then be happy and normal confuses me. plus, the tournament is ridiculous, why in the world would the "great spirit" want a murderer to use his powers?? the tournaments should be watched over more closely and anyone who takes a life should be disqualified...

Remember this. If you ever want a way to say "I'm done, forget my fans", put the main villain in a princess dress on the last page of a cliffhanger ending. They'll love it.

This Manga is one of my all time favorite because all the characters are really interesting. each one is unique and the story is good. What really hooks me in this Manga is the relationship of Yoh and Anna and the value it always instill throughout the whole series: TRUST. I'm just glad that after 10yrs of its serialization Hiroyuki Takei decided atlast to give it 's true ending which of course, us fans, have been waiting for this past years.
I'm definitely giving it a 10. ^_^v whatever the outcome of its ending is.

I thought this series was really well done and it was definitely one of the series that i enjoyed, but with the current ending my rating dropped down to 6.5 cause i hated it so much.
But now i have heard rumors (and some with citations) about there being at least one other volume to give it a "true" ending. When i heard that i bumped it up to 8, but the ending will have to meet up with my expectations in order to get its rating back up to my top 5.
Till then i patiently wait ^.^

First time preferred the anime ending over the manga, usually manga continue on and leave u with a well thought of ending, but shit wat were people thinking losing interest, if i was in japan at that time, would have started a Re start Riot, and kept emaling them..

I really liked much of the start of the series. It isn't the most original series ever, but the fights are interesting and there are some cool characters, I really liked Hao, Yoh and Anna, However, once it descended to the tournaments the series went downhill. Fast. Which is why it became so unpopular towards the end. A pity, cause this series could have easily been better than Naruto or One Piece.
