From eManga

Youichi's life at university is going just fine. He isn't having any trouble with his classes, he has plenty of friends, and even a cute girlfriend named Minami. Then the day comes where he meets Misaki. Misaki is a reserved, stand offish fellow but for some reason, Youichi can't seem to get him out of his mind. In fact, he can't seem to stay away. When he lands a job working in the lab with Misaki, it seems more than just the flowers are about to bloom. But will they recognize their emotions for what they are, and have the courage to accept it?

Lovely

This is a very good manga. It has everything I love, slow plot, emphasis on the character's evolution and emotions rather than on the story, characters that have their own strengths and weaknesses, human-like reactions, good art.

There are only two things that bugged me enough to give it an 8 instead of a 9. The first one is the timeline of the story, maybe it's just the website that messed up the chapters, but it made it hard at times for me to follow, and so I couldn't appreciate that much what was going on since I was trying to figure out if what I was seeing was happening now or if it was a flashback, especially in the beginning, it gets better afterwards.

The second one is that I missed a few things from Arikawa's point of view. The beginning of their story till the moment where Arikawa begins to notice his own feelings is very good as well as after they recognised each other's feelings. But all the time where Arikawa's trying to figure out what's going on with his feelings felt a bit lacking for me. It was hard to feel how he was falling in love, and it's a really important thing to me to be able to completely feel how the seme's falling in love. And so it was a bit hard to believe. But that aside, once they're together, it really is incredibly sweet, romantic, heartwarming and their interactions are depicted so delicately.

There're not really bad points, so it wouldn't stop you from reading and enjoying it. I think I may appreciate it better once I read it again.

Sweet

A very sweet and adorable story. The art is everything I could ever wish for. Characters are great too, you don't get to see the kind of seme like Arikawa everyday (though he is not exactly my type, hmm) And Misaki is such a cute kid, whenever I see him crying, I just want Arikawa to tease him more (bad me, haha...).

Maybe this is too simple or predictable for someone, but to me this is as sweet and beautiful as the scent of flowers, and I love that.

Higher expectations

I realise that the mangaka for this only did the illustrations for Seven Days, but I still had higher expectations because its my belief that people with who take a novel and make it into manga form will generally add a little bit of their style into it (other than just the art).

If I wasn't comparing this to Seven Days, then the manga would be above average. But some of the plotline has been rehashed quite abit in this genre so it isn't unique enough to make it stand out and above the rest.

The sincerity of the main male character was very appealing. I like how he approached the uke. The downfall had to be they had too many manga tropes.

Another sweet manga which left you with warm feelings ^.^
With Seven Days it's one of my most favourite manga.
(Lowering down the rating about 0,1 point down just for little confusing beginning.)

Completely in love with this manga

The storyline may be a bit predictable to some people, but in all honesty that didn't affect me at all. I loved both of the male characters, and found the manga as a whole so sweet and gorgeous. I may be a bit biased since the art is so well drawn, but I really loved everything about this manga ^^

Good manga but not the best.

It's a good solid manga, one of those that neither has a big plot nor much drama or anything else... it's just a very simple love story.
I like the art and the characters and it was an enjoyable read but I wouldn't count this as the best manga I've ever read or anything either... however I do see the appeal Takarai Rihito has for Yaoi beginners. This is one of the better works to read if you are just starting with Yaoi and want something easy to follow and will leave you with a positive feeling.
Personally for me it was lacking something though and I'm looking for more in manga, a story that can truly move me, characters that I can go crazy over or just really well conveyed emotions.
This manga has a little bit of everything but doesn't convince me as a whole.

If you are looking for something sweet and light, without much difficult themes then give it a read.
It's not something to stay in your head forever though.

The art style reminded me about "Seven Days", and of course it turned out to be drawn by the same mangaka ^_^. But "Hana no Mizo Shiru" is a lot better (for there is a gap in two years between them, and mangaka improved since then). I was actually going to give it 8, but the story appeared to be rather simple and predictable. Still nice though. Oh, and I appreciate all the efforts of scanlator groups, mostly because of their cute messages throughout the manga ^-^.

she writes such great stories! I love that the seme is just as crazy about the uke as the uke is crazy about him (if not more so)! And the sexy scenes were just amazing. I haven't seen that drawn with so much feeling and depth in a while (and I read a LOT of yaoi). I'd definitely recommend. Now I want to go re-read Seven Days (again). Such beautiful art. So cute!
