Fun start ending need more but it ok

I was never really a fan of this until the anime. I was really turn off but the artwork. Kind of similar to one piece. But I gave it another shot and enjoy it. Love the comedy, the characters were fun; but one then that I really love compared to Naruto or the one piece anime.... was color. I enjoy that didn't styles and colors that was shown for this series and as I continue to read it i really got into it. After the rukia rescue arc I slowly started to watch less but it was still fun after seeing characters like nel to and I wish there was more. Hearing his mother backstory was great and the last battle was a bit rushed. However the ending is what I kind of expected. So in the end. Good read.

long series come together with many shounen which have stayed too long
its ending is kind of rushed

the story is well like dragon ball which some stronger comes after you win, to make you stronger
repeat
at least it kind of boring when aizen arc conclude with his capture
bring new power, repeat

for ending side
the romance is not tale to be told, but at least they have pairing here, well maybe your ship sunken, but, hey, it's not open ending relationship where the MC is open to all heroines

story wise, it maybe can be told longer, but it's rushed to ending w/o any explanation with the 13 clubs somewhere

my only regret is i can feel the full of kenpachi bankai
well he is one of my fav char there

Personal overall feelings

I've started Bleach around my late elementary school years, definitely grade 7 or 8 for sure though. I know because I haven't touched any really serious series with the exception of Inuyasha or Witch Hunter Robin, Gundam Seed, etc. and excluding the earlier childhood anime, Bleach was an instant hit for me at that point. I went through a bad grade 8 syndrome/fujoshi phase then but because of all these factors, I loved how it got me into the dark serious cliche right away. And from that point on, I started exploring all sorts of anime and genres.

After that, I got fed up with the anime and jumped to the manga, with all these years of reading it, yes there are a lot of ups and downs, downs for a period of time probably but what can I say? I loved it still. Why? I didn't expect Bleach at the Hueco Mundo arc and after to get any epic afterwards, but it didn't let me down. What I loved was the Vizard part about Ichigo where was never explained until a while later. The one thing that I had always wondered was about Ichigo's mother, which was finally explained after countless stallings but it wasn't too satisfying, but fair enough.

It's been rushed but its also very sweet.

I don't like Inoue but that's still fine, it was kind of defaulted which I don't mind anyways. Seeing them being able to have kids
and the fact it serves as a conclusion is sweet. Cheers to a conclusion of one my final late childhood series I have started, it was nice despite the ups and downs, despite the drags, it was simply nice.
Thank you Kubo for bringing me Bleach all these years, thank you for concluding a part of my childhood.

Read the manga, it's not very good, but it has its moments

So
The manga has just ended as i am writing this review. I've been reading bleach since i was ten years old. It was my favourite manga and anime for a long period of time. Until of course 2 things happened: 1. bleach fell into a stereotypical formula 2. My taste in manga and anime grew.
Art:
Bleach has a distinct art style, it oozes style and sometimes the art is very dynamic/ especially with action and emotional moments. However, the art lacks detailed backgrounds, especially later on in the series. Also, each panel is almost always a close up or wasted motion that could be used to speed the plot. If one were to make a comparison of bleach with any other shonen manga, like one piece. it would take one piece ten frames to do a task, while it would take bleach 20 maybe more frames to convey the same tasks. This leads to each chapter having essentially less content. Story feels sluggish (ran for 15 years, only 3 major arcs).
Story: bleach story from the beginning was formulaic, but a lot of shonen suffer from that. However, they try to change or subvert( HXH) certain things so that they can make the plot feel fresh. Bleach attempts no such thing. every arc is the same, save princess from villain scenario. Almost nobody dies, and when they do it has no significance. Fights are well drawn, but the structure is predictable to a tee. Keep transforming or coming up with new powers until the you defeat the villian.
character: Tite kubo confessed that when he comes up with a story, his process is somewhat obtuse. He first designs a character and then thinks of a story to go along with it. The story is subservient to the character, the story does suffer due to it, but it leads to the characters being very distinct and well designed. Unless you have a million of them and you forget them after every storyline and never ever ever develop them at all. Yeah, thats what he does. He has an amazing main cast of characters, ichigo the mc being one of the more balanced and human shonen mcs, but he wastes time on characters that have no value or keeps introducing new characters that make the readers confused about who is important. as soon as you grow attached to one character, they are thrown away and never mentioned again.
Read bleach because its ended, it wont be half as bad for you as it was for me, because you wont have to wait and its easily binge-able. I would recommend watching the fights in the anime.

Bleach is the purest case of style over substance in all the manga I've ever read. That this manga was serialized for ~15 years (while tons of worthwhile manga were discontinued) is a permanent mark of shame on Shounen Jump. Bleach began as a story of smoke and mirrors, with the high point roughly around Aizen's betrayal...and then everything went downhill for the remaining 10+ years.

I remember last time I read bleach was in the beginning or middle of arancar ark, I realize then, this manga gonna be longer than dragon ball, so I decide to give it a rest, after awhile I heard comment that current ark is the last and has been confirmed and other comment that bleach is bad, I dont remember that the last time I read it so I decide to read it again from beginning.

I have to said that all those people are wrong, not really wrong but wrong enough to give it a bad word. First the story itself actually really good with twist and turn, and all arc up to chapter 600 actually wrap up quite nicely, character also gain quite a bit of development, Ichigo stop picking fight so much each time he meet enemy, Inoue now not as much wimp as it used to be, Rukia also got a bit of development but it was thin so I can't pick a word, but at least her brother changed a lot. The battle was just barely okay but it was still better than most shounen manga out there(code:breaker, naruhiyon, etc).

Maybe bleach was not so great manga that can compete with Bersek, Hunter x Hunter, Hajime no Ippo, etc. But it still manage to entertain it's reader, at least Bleach is better than many mediocre, over hype, long running shounen manga like code: breaker, naruhiyon or disciple kenichi. Let just hope that the rumor that current ark is the last ark is true and it doesn't suck.

I actually don't have clear idea of where I should start with Bleach. I have read it for some time, but it's more like because Bleach comes along with the other big 3 of WSJ, OP and Naruto.

Anyway, like Naruto, Bleach has also started strong. The idea of shinigami was genuinely interesting and the way it started, it was good. The fights were good, the characters are cool, and the plot seems ok.

The problem is, unlike Naruto or OP, Bleach doesn't have a finish line to go for. While Naruto has Hokage and Luffy has Pirate King that headline the whole plot, Kurosaki in particular doesn't have that kind of goal. This has made the story wander aimlessly, especially after fight against Aizen ends. Kubo forced the story going by drawing out the supposedly extinct Quincy and now pit them against Kurosaki co. It would've ended well by having Ichigo get his power back, and stop there.

Now Bleach has reached a point where I can't even tell what is really going on in fights, it's like having someone talking and you don't have any idea what he was trying to tell you. I still take short view on every new chapter, out of curiosity where it will go and end finally, I just hope they won't make Kurosaki the Spirit King successor it will be much too ridiculous end whatsoever!

Great Art, Ok Story

I have read a lot of manga, manhwa and comics so I will be fair when I rate this.

I have stop reading after aizen was defeated as I though this shall be the ending as I can feel the mangaka is running out of idea for Bleach, what with aizen evolve more powerful being and ichigo like "ooo but I still have more powerful getsuga tenshou I haven't used yet" and kick his ass with it.WTF, the char has one technique only confused and you are powerful but I am more power then u.....zzzz for me. although sometime I will open new chapter and see what was happening. What I saw is total bullshit in new chapters with new character having ridiculous power like in One Piece that doesn't have any rules that he pull out of his ass.

On the bright side, I can see his art is getting better and drawing is looking cooler, so I was just enjoying the art really.

I will rate it 7 as it is still a good manga based on the initial plot and have cool character with great and unique art.

But as of now, the mangaka has been dragging the story out.

From Hero to Zero

Yeah, Hercule's reference, but with the exact opposite meaning, for those that didn't understand it bigrazz

I usually don't write comments about mangas, even though I have my share of knowledge with all that I've read so far. I officially dropped Bleach today, after getting tired of all the dragging and the stupidity. Someone said here that it seems that Tite Kubo seems on LSD while writing and I second that. But here's a proper comment:

Art:
The art is gorgeous. I always loved Tite Kubo's art and I still do. Too bad it's such a waste in this manga...

Characters:
When you get to love one, they just don't appear anymore. Some characters are simply random and never made a statement. Others... I just hate them because they are faulty characters. I wasn't expecting perfect characters (even though it seems Kubo is trying to portray Ichigo as the perfect being with ALL the powers in the universe. Yes, a Gary Stu. No, even Naruto wasn't this bad. Naruto didn't have EVERY single power. Just as an example), but I was expecting development. Just don't expect that. It barely exists. For some, it doesn't.

Plot:
Well, it did start great. Bleach was once my favorite manga (and even my favorite anime). It had amazing potential. The first arc was awesome. The second arc (Hueco Mundo) dragged quite a bit, but it's still satisfying. Until the end of it. I won't spoil, but that arc's ending... It was horrible, Everything from that point on is absolutely terrible. From useless arcs (I felt I was reading fillers! Fillers in a manga!) to pointless plot... With some of the worst powers I've ever seen. I can't handle it anymore. It got way too low.

Sorry. I stuck around while it was amazing. Then when it was bearable. Now it's just... Bad. It's not average, it's really bad. Do yourself a favor and go to read something else. Your time is wasted here. I gave it a 6 out of 10 for the good points in this manga (art and the initial plot).

Too many characters

Why are there so many?? They just increase with each chapter and arc, and trying to give time for all characters is close to impossible. When did I last see Ichigo... maybe 2-3 months ago... who have I been seeing? Much of the enemy, some scenes with 1-2 captains... Where the hell are all the characters that made Bleach what it is?!?!? I guess this is what makes One Piece kinda of good, it has the guts to leave characters behind and just keep the main ones constant.
