It contains all the shonen cliches that you love or hate it. It's like Dragonball 2 the revenge. Predictable, full of plot holes, power up, hyped opponents... check other shonen and leave Bleach alone (or get it AFTER all the other shonen).

Completely unoriginal as it may be, it's still way much better than Naruto and is overall a good read. I just hope the story won't go on forever so it doesn't become naruto-ish.

it sounds cool. i was reading all the comments in whether to buy the manga i had doubts that i might not love it ? but after reading the comments i decided to buy the manga because after i read all the comments(yes i read all of them) l'll probably be addicted to it and because if its got action and horror then i'm gona buy the manga books so i can't honestly rate on what i think of the manga but for know i think i'll give it an #8 cause it sounds badasss!!!!!!!! till next time i'll rate what i really feel for the manga it be probably a #10!! because if it kind of naruto then i'll absolutly love it !! till next time S-E-E-Y-A

Good one. But as always, if u don't like SJ, this isn't the manga u wanna read. However this is one of my fav SJ mangas.

To the people above: make it better!! Bleach is not very original, but if you look at it, there are no 'original' series (they're all based on the same pattern, that's how storytelling goes. It's all just the way you give shape to it/play with stereotypes) And yeah, it is made to make money, but what is bad about this? To make up a story and draw it is hard work (and generally, you work for the money, and not because you like it)!! Besides, if you don't like it, don't read it (Personally, I think Berserk is the best manga ever made). I like One Piece for it's original artwork (but it's not so much different of other shonen/comedy series, remember Dr.Slump....). But it's also true that 'recently' the storyline sucks a little.... If you liked Bleach (somebody surely made that comment before) , read Zombie Powder. My english sucks too, but I hope you got my point of view.

bleach is a great shounen manga. I loved it. The storyline was interesting and the artwork was pretty good.

true. the series itself isn't something original. heck, it resembles a lot more to Flame of Recca and Yu Yu Hakusho. but is it bad? nope. its awesome. one of the manga i look forward to week in and week out. the artwork and style has this funky groove to it at times.

It's incredible how unoriginal is bleach and how stiff and unimaginative the plot is. It's shonen so you get the idea. You get all the bad stereotypes of the genre and all the good things of the genre: nothing more nothin less.
If you love to see main characters to go kick ass of previously ultrahyped enemies with constant power up out of nowhere and willpower.... you will love Bleach. If you are searching just one element of originality go somewhere else.

Most of the characters have flat and stereotyped personalities... of course everyone will find someone to like.... there are tons of characters to choose from.
The new enemy isn't just stronger of last one... it's many times stronger with power skyrocketing in just a couple of days. No strategy, enviroment, or different abilities matters.... it's just raw power and spiritual pressure.

The shonen genre is stiff and it's hard to innovate but .... hey Bleach doesn't even try. As absurd as it may sound Naruto is more original and innovative than Bleach... sound strange? That's how Blech is.
