I remember last time I read bleach was in the beginning or middle of arancar ark, I realize then, this manga gonna be longer than dragon ball, so I decide to give it a rest, after awhile I heard comment that current ark is the last and has been confirmed and other comment that bleach is bad, I dont remember that the last time I read it so I decide to read it again from beginning.

I have to said that all those people are wrong, not really wrong but wrong enough to give it a bad word. First the story itself actually really good with twist and turn, and all arc up to chapter 600 actually wrap up quite nicely, character also gain quite a bit of development, Ichigo stop picking fight so much each time he meet enemy, Inoue now not as much wimp as it used to be, Rukia also got a bit of development but it was thin so I can't pick a word, but at least her brother changed a lot. The battle was just barely okay but it was still better than most shounen manga out there(code:breaker, naruhiyon, etc).

Maybe bleach was not so great manga that can compete with Bersek, Hunter x Hunter, Hajime no Ippo, etc. But it still manage to entertain it's reader, at least Bleach is better than many mediocre, over hype, long running shounen manga like code: breaker, naruhiyon or disciple kenichi. Let just hope that the rumor that current ark is the last ark is true and it doesn't suck.

Was a Great manga

Like many people has said, the Soul Society arc was really great. The other arcs were good too but it lost it's "touch". I think that the author could have did some other arc and left the espada arc on hold because I thought he rushed it.

The thing is really hated was the insane power ups Ichigo gets when he barely does anything. The fighting in Bleach was good but not great because to me the fight is not as imaginative as "Naruto". Basically Ichigo just uses a tiny handful of attacks only and then he just sword fights. Aizen is so overpowered that it's not even funny.

I thought the author is picking poop out of his butt when basically the Captains Ichigo beats were not fighting 100%. I'm really disappointed with the author because he now just milking Bleach for all the money. It's even worse than Naruto. I just always thought that the character development was really bad because the story just revolves around Ichigo.

Overall I can only give this a 7/10 because Bleach could have been better if the author knew how to execute his manga better.

Started off OK, with a relatively cool and fresh idea of shinigamis doing their job...

However the plot seems to be lacking and feels rather dragging and boring.

The thing i hate most about Bleach is that in every single chapter during the battle, and I do mean literally EACH AND EVERY battle chapter, someone has to make that dumb face of 'omghowdidyoudothat' surprise face. Always, without fail, you see that same face over and over. Worse still, in the next chapter, whoever who made that dumb face always has another thing up their sleeves to put on the dumb face to his opponent. Each battle has to go through this dumb face transfer a couple of times before it ends, and this is when I decided I'll stop reading.

Also character design seems to be a little weak - in the sense that there are too many of those characterless/faceless/personality less monsters - and the fashion appears somewhat too black-&-white-ish...

Funny thing though, I am still keeping up with the weekly releases, just so I still know what will happen next. I was so happy when the invincible, almight imba Aizen was beaten because I thought that was when it will end. But alo and behold, there's still more stuff to drag on...

So now I'm stuck with this dilemma, to read or not to read .. ;p

I began reading this without much interest, since most of my friends hated it. The first ten pages or so I thought were horrible. But I LOVED it. My one real complaint is that when Ichigo and his friends (Chad, Uryuu, etc) went to save Rukia from the Soul Society, about 30 characters (Soul Reapers) were introduced at once and it got incredibly confusing trying to keep them all straight.

I'm only on volume 27, so we'll see if I continue to like it, but right now, I think its wonderful.

Shounen mainstream manga, Blend characters, overdramatic techs, lousy dialogue etc etc. Would rate this bottom tier 1 but then again, the point (if any) of the mainstream shounen is to be cheesy. So I guess its a 5ier.

I read/watched Bleach since the beginning. It was pretty decent with nice fighting and this whole training to get stronger thing. As expected the anime got soon raped by fillers just like naruto. Anyway, the manga progressed good untill the end of the soul society saga. But tell me how sad is it to use the SAME friggin setting ( gettin captured, being rescued) again ?!? that just shows how noncreative the author is. I thought it cant get worse so i continued to read it but then it hit me like a hammer, the author RESERVED 105(!!) chapters for some pointless past thing wich NOBODY realy cares, i mean aizens is pissed so WHAT? the EVIL guy is ALWAYS pissed, i dont need to know wich kindergarten he went to and why hes been bullied in school !! to sum it up : PLZ END THIS ALREADY !!

...everyone seems to say that the story becomes boring or repetitive after a while, but I say; who cares?!!! I haven't seen a single manga that's more than 20 volumes long and DOESN'T get boring or repetive! I like Bleach! And nothing will stop me from continue to read this manga!

Thank you.

A plot for Turds

It's a pretty good series when it was young. Like it's "twin" naruto it's dying and becoming repetitive. The only thing that worsens this series is the fact that the creator just simply cannot find out a better way to end a certain fight. It's almost as if God is on the main team's side. (which would be the creator..duh) I love the art of it ---- but that's it. Just the art. Bleach began swell as a great idea and plot...then died off in my reading list as it turns into something like dragonball. Even dragonball Z has a better flow to it. The mains are able to pull off stunts randomly in order to beat something that overwhelms them...alot.
Publishing's a gamble. You rely on the beginning only so you'll never know the outcome. But when they see the rack of money they get, they'll never stop. Bleach is popular due to it's lovable characters. I got to say, the characters are pretty nice. But after all the fights and they boundary-less chapters...they all look the same. No character development in this series in my opinion...and a "crash and burn" of the plot. This series' is great but gets old too quickly. Great for the little turds. but it's too shounen as it is with naruto. Just...too...much.
Screw the violence, the plot really is for little turds.

Short review

The big problem with Bleach is, Kubo Tite has a lot of trouble getting to the point. When you look back, not a whole lot happened in Soul Society and yet it lasted about 13 volumes. Therefor, reading Bleach in small chunks can be quite frustrating; and checking every week for a new chapter is something I strongly advice against. However, there is a lot in Bleach to like (even though it's easy to lose sight of those qualities). You know you all loved it to bits when you were able to read 20 volumes in a short amount of time (because thats about the time its popularity peaked and everyone started reading it), and that's how this fight-shounen should be experienced.
There's a strong emphasis on style over substance, something I'm usually not very fond of. But in Bleach I think it works, cause there's just about enough intrigue to keep reading in between all the badass fights and pretty people. It's a heck of a lot better than Oh! Great's stuff for sure (which I just consider unreadable dreck).
I guess it's also the style of the house. Jump series simply drag on and on, once they become popular enough. They try to stretch every last penny out of it. There are no exceptions on this rule; even One Piece (which I absolutely adore and consider miles and leagues beyond anything in Jump ever) is plagued by tedious battle scenes that are nothing more but clutter. And when you take into account that Bleach doesn't really have a deep, long story; it all makes sense.
It's quite hard to rate this manga before it ends; cause when something goes on for as long as this, the ending and how the loose ends will be tied up are crucial in deciding on a representative score.

Everything up untill they enter Hueco Mundo gets a solid 8. Hueco Mundo gets a 1. I mean sure, fight-shounen... but the fights aren't even interesting one bit. At least 7 volumes down the drain.
The latest flashback really upped the ante; but it'll probably be too little, too late. A decent 6.
