It seems like the series could develop either way. The current mysteries and twists (see chapter 11) aren't ones that tend toward longevity. If it can't break 10 volumes, it's unfortunate.

Chapter 11. Seriously man, this manga's really awesome thus far. I won't be criticizing all the plot holes, randomness, clicheness that people mentioned below since the story's still progressing. But so far man, I think its really awesome, I'm not even gonna lie. But i wonder, the title's Deadman wonderland (name of the prison), I wonder if they'll gonna be able to get out of prison. If they do, then it'll be interesting and the author can expand the story. If not, then I'm expecting the end of this manga by volume 4-5.

Anyway, its really cool manga, awesome plot twists, awesome fights, everything. Give it a try.

Pretty much my sentiments.

As of chapter 11, the story's a truckload of cliches, randomness, and pointless violence so I can't quite understand why so many readers seem to be enthusiastic about it. At the moment, the only characters whom I've found interesting were Senji, Minatsuki, and Yoh/You(?).

I could say that the situation will occur not only in 4 walls of the prison but also toward the world as well. More story develops and he will break the prison to the outside world. Like Eureka Seven, first the main character is only a punk kid who know nothing but ends up becoming a hero saving the world.

Damn DW switches between genres more than it's characters switch between their multiple personalites. DW seems a bit to gruesome to be classified as shounen.

But yeah when it first arrived on onemanga I read it and loved it. Trust me Ganta is a far cry from Renton; he gets put into a horrible situation yet he doesn't just sit in a corner and cry, he gets up and does something. I don't wanna make my comment super long so I'll just give a short list of awesome points.

- The art is some of the best around
- All the characters are interesting
- Likeable protagonist
- And oh yeah, it doesn't hurt that they threw in a few hot chicks here and there
- Interesting but still mysterious plot made stronger by the great setting

Overall:

This manga has a very good and unpredictable plotline. The various characters each evolve throughout the story and some of them are even unknowingly connected to each other one way or another. Very interesting and a good read.

I'm starting to read through this series, and have just completely fallen in love with it. I can't wait to read more.

Every time I finish a chapter, I feel like I don't want to read anymore but I find myself reading the next. BUT these characters are seriously messed up...

Its so weird... I love it. Its so violent, and misleading sometimes, that you really start to understand him. When he finally gets to the point of thinking he can survive in there without too much psychological damage, something messed up happens again.
The art is really nice too, I think
