Description
From Tokyopop:
Sato Tatsuhiro is a drug-addled "hikikomori" (a Japanese shut-in) who thinks a sinister organization, NHK (Nihon Hikikomori Kyoukai), is the cause of all his problems! He falls in love with a girl, Misaki, who he thinks is trying to assassinate him, but doesn't know how to talk to her or if he can trust her. The more he stays in his house watching anime porn, reading manga, and doing drugs, the harder it is for him to leave. Only Misaki can keep him from rotting away in his own apartment!

Jinx, you pretty much wrote out what was already on my mind. I agree with how this manga is a very surreal reflection of reality, but also truthful in that manner. In addition I am surprised to see how many elements of NHK can still be related to a western-lifestyle where terms like "hikki" aren't coined with as much disgust.

Also, the 'over-done' characters in this manga particularly have been a nice change from the typical Shounen hero or whatnot. Besides, what most Anime's / Manga's do is to just blow regular day to day life things into gigantic proportions... and at least it is done right in NHK.

Will they kill themselves or will they happy... I don't know. But it is amazing to see what is going on. Lonely souls in their own crazy world.

One of the most convoluted plots i have ever seen. The development of the characters is crazy. I gets better then worse, and then better. So confusing.
It starts off as a comic manga but gets much more serious.

Yet there is some addicting factor that compells the reader to keep read the manga. Its just that everyone wants to see how this manga ends.

Funny storylines, intelligent themes and great character development in both the manga and anime versions of this series. Satou is the "all-time loser" and everyman at the same time. Can get kind of dark though, so don't read it if you don't like that kind of thing.

The main characters are balanced between hilariously funny and really f*cking pathetic. In the same way the story moves from comdey to drama. Great art.

It's so hot! PUT IT IN ME!

This should be the reaction everyone has when they read/watch this. Seriously. Good and unique story. Nice characters. Very smexy art. The only thing that this thing lacks is swords.

Intriguing story about a very real social problem in his journey to fight it. There was a couple of things that didn't do in the anime from the manga and that was interesting too.

In the start, the manga seems to be a comedy, but as it goes deeper it seems to more of a emo dramatic manga, the guys life is a total tragedy, and as you see his life you see what his life effects on others. This manga is not for the light hearted as this potrays real Psychological sense..

the manga also seems to get real serious, then breaks it off with something out of nowhere. not your average manga

It's kinda similar to Genshiken, though, the mood is wierd and not recommended for weak-hearted ^^
