One of the best manga I've picked up in recent memory. The story is fresh and exciting as well as ... well important for one. A group of outcast girls who join with an (unknown to all but one of them) crossdressing boy to try and protect their community - or rather their house - from being gobbled up in property development. Some politics but 98% innocence and comedy. There's probably going to be more on the romancey side later on, but right now saving the house is most important (chapter 31). And that's a big deal. There's romantic tension, but this story has it's values in proper order. Hard to bother with love affairs if you don't have a home or your trusted friends around you.

WAAA!!! Just finished reading Ch.22 (latest post as of this review). So good! Like nothing I've ever read. The main characters are otakus, which is pretty weird and unconventional and you won't be disappointed. They are so lovable I want to keep reading, maybe because I'm a little strange myself and it's refreshing to see a main character with similar feelings (and drawbacks, sigh). The main protagonist loves jellyfish and it stems from the author's obsession of jellyfish. The author was an otaku back in the day. You know a work of art (literature, manga, whatever) is good when it's based on something personal to the author. The storyline is totally cheesy and cliched, some I've seen millions of times, but somehow I never get tired of these things. Plus, it's so adorable and cute (main character actually) with it's own unique spin. There's quite a bit of fashion in this too. You'd think with a house full of otakus, they'll never be exposed to fashion but the contrast is entertaining (the makeovers are the best part! who doesn't love makeovers?). Plus, the romance is pretty good. I love this. Please, whoever is scantalating, I'm counting on you.
OMG!!!

Just now i finish to watch anime and i fascinated by it! Its simply adorable, funny, fresh and serious at the same time! Characters are amazing, each of them very unique, even if almost all of them are females its not some stupid annoying ´harem´! The author brings up a lot of important questions of modern society: obsession with beauty, NEET and otaku, child\parent problems, even the problem of housing and land´s development; fashion line and drawind style remainds me about my dear Paradise Kiss! This anime definitely gonna be one of my favourite! I wish there will be second or even third season! Pretty Please!!!!

... Found the joy of watching anime once again....after a 2 year sabbatical...it does have some of the shoujoesque nuances, which had put me off shoujo in general but it has one aspect I like a lot
the anime compresses volume 4,5 and 6 into one episode.most of anime events are ended by chapter 29,volume 5 but a few bits of the anime continue into volume 6. some things are different between the anime and manga...

cross-dressing straight guy
. which is why I picked it up. Its simple with lots of "innocent" characters, but a good read and watch. Anime follows the manga the latter of which is a bit lagged in the english translated bits. but at least cures some of the hunger for more when you are done with the latest chapter release...wish there were more of this type of quirky Joseis..the anime compresses volume 4,5 and 6 into one episode.most of anime events are ended by chapter 29,volume 5 but a few bits of the anime continue into volume 6. some things are different between the anime and manga...

This is actually really interesting. I didn't expect much from the beginning, but it grew on me. The fact that the guy cross dressed was actually a turn off, but I stuck with it, and it's actually a nice and warm manga. It's very genuine and quite realistic. It's entertaining in warm your heart kind of way. I would recommend it as a light read.

well yes the story is not the same as always, I mean you got a straight dude using dresses so yeah it's weird, also the otakus and well...that's kinda the story. It has a SOMETHING, i won't deny it...I read the first chapters and I laughed a lot, but after the girls gets interested in the older guy and stuff it just felt BORED (to be honest), the otaku girls annoy me (sorry if I hurt feelings), at first yeah they were great and funny and liked the story, but...the only one that doesn't annoy me is the straight guy ...and well...
I'll read it later, because ...right now ..meh~, not interested in reading it right now.
nice story? YES,
nice characters? YES.
it has a feeling that the story is for adults (but not porn stuff or anything),
just read it if you want to laugh a lot!

Ehem! After a week i decided to edit my com. From before(which was the one up there) ^^^^
i'm sure people(some) who check out this manga watched the anime first(becuase for the past 6 weeks before the anime even came out, this page doesnt have enough info nor visitors till the anime was aired) well naturaly it'll become popular .. BUT THE ANIME AND THE MANGA WILL CONFUSE YOU!
I'm telling you,, both of them are good! BUT CHOOSE ONLY ONE OF THEM TO SEE ... Cuz since the manga and the anime ALMOST has the same day of release date... You'll get confused between the two, BUT! If u can bear with it... Go ahead..(^_^)

Even though the story revolves around female otaku (fujoshi) and even though they get an image transformation, that transformation lasts for a few pages. So for the most part they continuously parade around as otaku. It's like reading about the ugly duckling that never becomes a swan, even when she's around the guy she likes. As for the rest of the otakus, makes you want to cringe when you see how awkard everyone is. The problem is that there's just so much verbiage but not enough character development, while most of the jokes were making fun of otakus. Also it's a daunting task having to follow the blooming romance between Shuu (the guy Tuskimi likes) and another woman. Lastly, there hasn't been any noticeable romance for Tuskimi, so far everything is about trying to save the building she lives in and watching as Shuu gets with another woman. Even Kuranosuke, the crossdresser, isn't connecting with Tuskimi romantically cause she's all about Shuu. While Kuranosuke is all about making dresses.

This series really does show promise, however, the characters do not develop throughout the plot as much I had hoped. The art is colorful, the characters are unique and interesting, and the whole idea of focusing on female otakus is very original. Be warned of some spoilers below.
Unfortunately, interesting stories with potential were skipped around with, with none ending properly. This constant skipping around made the series feel empty and the originality novelty. For example,Tsukimi and Shuu have a cute little romance that went nowhere. Their relationship didn't even have to go in a romantic way, but it has to at least end properly. Tsukimi has a crush on Shuu and Shuu with her, and even though Shuu's seems to be very vain, he does seem to care for her. Then he does little to salvage his chances with Tsukimi when Shouko steps in. Almost immediately, Shuu and Tsukimi never interacted ever again which was dissappointing. I do admit though that this example is a bit biased since I support Tsukimi and Shuu together. Maybe it's the fact that Tsukimi and Kuranosuke, the guy she's supposed to fall for, don't have enough "together" moments. The fact that the two are mostly platonic in the end does not help with their romance either. The characters are honestly very unique although they greatly lack development. The genre "romantic comedy" doesn't seem suitable because of the lack of a solid romantic plot. The main romance is not even between the protagonist and a main character. The idea of a romance with Tsukimi and a main character exist, but only an idea (and for most, an expectation). Kuranosuke's father cheated on his wife and there is no explanation for it. Truly respectable for a politcan.
This review is really a lot more critical than I planned, and while I truly enjoyed the series, I am more talented at pointing out flaws. Know that if you decide to look into it, there are many great elements to it such as the comedy, cross-dressing, and characters more people can relate to (Or at least I can relate to them.)
