Dissapointing

As much as I LOVED the previous season, New Waves has been a great let down. It started off with Shioon trying to regain his balance in life after his master's departure. The beginning was good (rather slow) there was a heavy hint of Nine Arts Dragon returning, but when he did, the story line didn't change much...it was more like a cameo :S The action scenes were pretty good but got repetitive and some situations could have been avoided without a fight. We pretty much got the point of Shioon being amazing, but every character gets stunned and impressed etc...their inner dialogue was getting on my nerves. It's been 80 chapters now, and there's nothing greatly notable while the author created wonders within 79 chapters in The Breaker :/
New Characters - 6.5/10 (I thought too many were kinda useless)
Art - 10/10 (as ever)
Story - 6.5-7/10 (I want more of 9AD!)
Can expect more in future maybe, really hoping they'd do something more with this series.

I totally agree with chudman. The protag is now totally pathetic, the reason I like the breaker was because of the cool protag whose growth was mysteriously awesome! Now...I don't know whether to continue or stop. I'll see what happens.

Inferior than prequel but still good

Without giving too much away, my two favorite characters from 'The Breaker' do not appear in this sequel and hence I'm left with the decent protagonist to carry this series. The fact that it turns into somewhat of a harem is pretty disappointing since the previous serious was pretty straightforward on the romance aspect. But I digress, the action is still as awesome as ever and to be honest that's the main attraction of this series and for me since the story and characters are still pretty decent I still like this series. The Breaker was awesome. New Waves is very good.

I started reading this season from the day it was published, I was really excited but when I look back, I just see a pointless haze. The new characters are so depth-less and annoying. The numbers grows with each new chapter! It's hard to keep up with them.
I agree with @MatrixM, the harem part is seriously irritating. The jealousy, cheese and predictable behavior of all the women around Shioon is nerve wrecking. After a gap of 2-3 months, I catch up on this manga, but nothing really happens except that any new girl that appears, "mysteriously" falls in love with Shioon -.-
I liked the character 'Cool Guy', true to his name, I found him cool and Shioon, a fool. -_-
Frankly I'v forgotten what I had read back in 2010(When the series started) Now I start a chapter with a sigh. My respect for the first season is what keeps me going. I will definitely not drop reading, what with the ART BEING HEAVENLY.
I'd like to convey this message to the author though, PLZZZ BRING THE BREAKER BACK ON IT'S FEET *Wolf Cry*

i can't understand why so many people give it such a high score. yes, the original breaker is cool, quite dark, and despite unconnected story elements (or maybe, yet to be explained) still being a page turner. the sequel, in the miserable contrary, has nothing really nice happened. i've waited until teens of chapter, i can't handle the boredom, i dropped it. i check it again at 36th, no luck. this title is now nothing but pictures of beautified girls and boys. just like korean pop entertainment as i know it, "it herp so much it derp."

I honestly hate the mangaka, because he turned it after a seinen into a shounen. The Breaker was darker and more mature than this sequel and i liked it. But The Breaker NW is so fucking annoying shounen if you compare it with the prequel

We are past chapter 27 and still it's boring as hell...! Nothing like the prequel, The Breaker. We know Shioon will be able to do martial arts again and somehow his ki center will heal or something exceptional like he'll be able to use his ki eventhough his ki center is broken.....

But just get on with it already!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's frustrating to wait for the inevitable for soooooooooooo long! And i want Chunwoo/Goomoonryong back simply 'cos he was badass+ goofy that made this manhwa entertaining.... now it's just one sloppy chapter after another trying to drag out the time when we finally get to see Shioon in his full powerful glory...!

You know that feeling when someone keeps blabbing on and on about something interesting but you don't care about? That's exactly how I feel about New Waves.

The plot goes round and round in circles with absolutely no direction, one minute it's about the New Generation(New Waves?), the next it's about the Older Generation, Using Shioon, Helping Shioon? etc...It's a mess, where it seems the author can't decide the direction of the manhwa.

Overall I prefer the plot, pacing, art and everything of the previous one which I'd give a 10. If this one had more focus it could have been even better than the 1st one.

I hope the 3rd one returns with the amount of focus and good pacing the 1st one had.

Sometimes this sequel is as painful to read as much watching spanish drama series.
No character growth , a lot of new character who act without any logic just so chapters can end in clifhangers.
The worst thing is that this is under seinen? srsly? the art is more shoujo than some shoujo manga and theres enough drama for it to join the ranks of shoujo manga, more than enough tbh.
The Breaker was awesome ,The Breaker:New Waves is a drama fest.

p.s. in The breaker (the first part) the nine arts dragon was on such high badass lvl that even flowers didnt diminish his badassness.
