I LOVE this manga! It's so cute! Although the characters may lack a bit of developement, I think that's what makes them so likable. The heroine wasn't annoying like all those other typical shoujo heroines and can actually stand up for herself and the male lead is SO CUTE!!! And not like, 'So HOT!' cute(well, he is a little bit x3), but he's so loveable!!!

The title made me a bit hesitant to read this manga at first, but I actually gave it a try, and now, i love this!! Highly recommended!!

Seriously, like the person below said, is this really written by a guy? I've read almost all the scanlated manga by this mangaka, and they are all equally good. Beast master is the best among them.

This mangaka really know how to write good romance! His manga doesn't have those silly overused shoujo stuff. I love his characters and his well developed storyline. If you like this, try his other mangas too. They're mostly short 1 volume mangas or oneshots, but the storyline and characters are really well written.

Beast master is one sweetheart of a story. It left such a warm fuzzy feeling in my heart while I was reading and after I have put it down. I usually don't read any short 1 volume mangas, because I figured there's no way an author and develop a good story plot with indepth characters in just 1 or 2 volumes, but this manga has really opened my eyes. Even with only 7 or so chapters, Beast Master doesn't feel rushed at all. It was sweet, romantic, heart-warming, and fun to read. This is the way a shoujo manga should be written!

I was wary to read this at first. I mean Beast master, not the most inventive title, but hey you take what you're given and like it! (as the saying goes) and in this case i took the story in and thoroughly enjoyed it. I am glad i read it!

this manga is so unique! usually shoujo's are full of HOT GUYS who are strong and *perfect* but this guy is so different. he's strong and all but he's just different from those other shoujo guys.
The plot is also very well done and although i wished it was longer it was very good and satisfying (: Perfect 10 for great plot, art and ending (:

Even the two other shorts were nice.

Though characters didn't really have much depth in them, it was really nice to read. I guess that one of the advantages of being naive, you don't get over conscious about how you act with those you cherish.

The characters are likable. The heroine is not annoying like a lot of shoujo heroines and knows when to fight back. She might not be successful, but she knows it's common sense/instinct to at least try. Like someone had sense- she is just a normal schoolgirl- not some version of what mangakas usually deem as normal schoolgirls. The guy has a very cute personality. I like how they explain how he had developed this hidden beast inside him instead of having him pop out of nowhere with these tendencies. The plot is a bit cliche, but it was still interesting because it led to some insights. The mangaka was not trying to make some crazy adventure out of his story but rather to show how Yuiki and Leo manage to find each other. I like how the mangaka kept this at two volumes. I know that similar manga would take this story of Leo and Yuiki and try to drag it on for 10 volumes. I think two volumes is a good enough length to tell their story and to keep the story fresh. If it had gone over to 4 or 5 volumes, I would have had to rate it lower. And extra story was great too!

Filled with clichès, but with some self-humour and... lovely, funny facial expressions XD that rises it above average (sometimes the way you express/show something really can make a difference). Very entertaining and endearing. The one-shot at the end about the talking cactus was LOL-worthy (the concept at least).

This manga is simply a cute summer read, while most main scans are slow or halted (like nana) this is an easy and enjoyable manga to read cute and original but cliched and predictable it will fill your day up with good old shoujo goodness and stop you feeling too bored for a while giving you a warm and fuzzy feeling. But don't go out of your way if your in a hurry or looking for a deep and dramatic manga this is not it its just a short cute read to be enjoyed but I didn't find it all that memorable.

This mangaka is amazing. I just can't believe that he's a man, drawing such a good shoujo manga.

I like the plot alot! and the male lead is so cute~
he's like a pet dog thats cute on the inside out but can turn deadly when it wants to protect something.

I like the female lead too. she's not annoying. she's not over the top. she's just.. normal. and sometimes normal is good.. since the guy is already abnormal. haha

like someone said before me in the comment box, my favorite phrase is

"To protect ourselves and what we hold dear, we keep frightening beasts within ourselves."
