This is one of my favorite series ever. Great story, even with the slow parts. Realistic with a real heroine. I recommend this manga for everyone.

i really liked it. it was really, really cute and funny. haruna isn't that typical weak girl and yoh isn't this complete asshole like you normally see. they're not very physically affectionate to each other which is a bit disappointing because i would've like to see them kiss more. the ending disappointed me a bit but that's okay. although they don't kiss, you can really tell that they love each other in what they say to each other and what they do for each other. it was a really sweet manga and i did love the mangaka's drawings.

I think one of the best things about this manga would Yoh, since he is just an AWESOME main lead. Also the relationship between Haruna and Yoh was very cute and heartwarming. Haruna's personality was a change from typical shoujo characters, and I absolutely love her optimism. I think the way she actually cares for Yoh and doesn't cry all the time is great. It's also not just Haruna being the one who does all the work, Yoh is always there for her as well. To keep it short, read this manga NOW!

I didn't hate it!!

I started reading this because i was wondering why it's so popular, and the final conclusion to me reading this is was that i didn't hate it.

At best, i have have little experience reading shoujo but i know all the stupid cliches that are in them but this manga didn't have a lot of them so that was impressive to me. Although it started kinda slow the comedy was good and the characters really developed through the manga, the ending was ok and the art is what you expect in shoujo mangas.

I think it's a bit overrated but it's a good read for fans of this genre.

This series was really funny + wahhh so romantic! They get together surprisingly early and its much more about their relationship than any actual coaching. This is both good and bad because while it doesn't drag out the willtheywon'tthey stage like other shoujos, there were moments where they got really boring as a couple. Scratch that, Yoh is boring, Haruna is HILARIOUS. She's your standard never give up no matter what type heroine but added bonus is she's super awkward and quite strong (her boyfriend-like behaviour towards Yoh and other girls is pretty funny). The only negative is her blind loyalty/love for Yoh and the fact that she's so insecure about their love. If it was anyone other than Yoh they would have gotten tired and dumped her already. But Yoh's surprisingly a good guy.

I really enjoyed reading this. Definitely recommended for people who like reading about pure/sweet romances!

Very light

Yoh is quite dull (not in the dense sense but in the boring sense).
Haruna is quite the opposite, a bit dense and naive but cheerful and all, and all the other chars are honestly just side characters you can toss away (Fumi the ever-smiling dork).

Nonetheless it quite entertained me even when I temporarily dropped it in the middle of vol 6, last year, because it can turn so ridiculous that I was fed up with it. I recently picked up and caught me getting captivated by it again.

The stories are all known, nothing new, very very light (don't expect more than holding hands and about 8-9 kisses in the entire series), often very cute but not very deep (well I said that already).
The chars don't change that much either (Yoh at the end is still dull) but it had its funny moments I could really laugh my arse off, thanks to Haruna.
The end is light and boring too, (ok, Haruna's appearance was once again a big LOL) ah well... it's good stuff for young teenagers and something to pass time for all others.

I give it a 7.6 for its humor, for Haruna's cheerful and weird character (quote from Yoh 'I think I got myself a boyfriend instead of a girlfriend' XD) and Yoh's art that was often very pretty (...oh and Akito too ^~).

If you like such kinds of stories I suggest Hana Kimi, it has better characters (and even the side chars are memorable), more humor, longer story with more development but also nothing very deep.

it's very good but seems to drag on at times the most disappointing part of it though is that the artist seems to have gotten really lazy or tired if you compare the beginning chapters to the last you can see a huge difference

I mean, the story is good enough to be an animated series. Characters were very well made and the story flow simply is okay even though I have read a lot of stories with a school life setting.

Its been a long read but, surely worth it~!

This series was among the first shoujo I read. It's an adorable, feel good story. The beginning is unbelievably awkward and ridiculous, but it is what it is. I was constantly cracking up as I read this, and the laughs just keep on coming.
Haruna + Yoh's relationship is sweet and silly. You meet a girl who doesn't know a thing about guys, dating, or any sort of romance. She meets a boy, she falls in love, he falls in love, you've got happily ever after, and inbetween there's fun and drama.
Haruna can be annoying at times since she's incredibly naive, but you learn to deal with it. At parts the story drags, but it's worth the time and effort to complete the series. smile
