Worst Manga in My Opinion

I loved this manga in the beginning it was interesting, it was alluring and it was different from the norm. After the third Manga, I lost all interest in it. The plot kept repeating, in the way I mean that whats his face just kept killing everyone that was getting in his way, and by the end it didn't accomplish anything. The new characters that were introduced didn't really help the plot in my opinion. They were uninteresting to me. And the ending was kinda blah. This I would have to say was a waste of my time. The artwork was very different from the 'normal' sense of a manga, so I do have to give credit to that. But the plot was a total flop. I really don't see how people get so hyped about this manga...

This manga started out really well on a great premise. I love how it's a mind game between two smart people. L's scheme to locate the killer in Japan was brilliant. However, as the story progressed, L became less logical and more irrational by trusting his instincts. Sure his instincts were right, but it's kind of cheap and not exciting for readers when he just knows the answer without having to work for it.
After the time skip, the story went downhill a bit. I liked the contrast between the world before and after the skip, but the story introduced too many new characters. They weren't developed enough and it wasn't as interesting or exciting to see their struggle because they felt like strangers.

Seriously guys, this manga is amazing. the characters are so unique and interesting! I mean, how often is the main character the bad guy? The storyline is incredible. It's just...wow. It definatley makes you think! I actually really liked the second arc as well. If anything, I thought the Yotsuba part was a bit boring. Book seven was just...wow. It was a very interesting twist. I think most people don't like the Mello/Near arc because of...yeah, you know. But really guys, that's NO reason to stop reading. Way to many people stopped. But there's so much that happens in the rest of the series you just can't miss! The ending was decent, could have been better, but I think it still fit well. Overall, this is an amazing manga I'd reccommend to anyone!

It's good as in yeah i finished it, i liked it, but i think to myself.. WTF? Okay everything is interesting and new but WTF? How do you get caught writing in a stupid notebook!? The ending really lower the rating for me because no one can answer my question. Let me emphasize it a bit more because HOW DO YOU GET CAUGHT ???

the complaints about the near and mello arc get on my nerves, it seems to me people get to attached to L. I love L but he had to die before kira and kira had to die; seems like a great plan to me. I'll dedide when i get to that part though.

This is an epic story with some of the best mind games ever seen manga and told form the rare but interesting anti-hero side. As long as you over look a few out of character and stupid actions taken near the start of the story and a few of the events right at the end, this manga is pure gold volume cover to volume back.

I'm not a Death Note fan but it's worth reading for 13+, Death note is a intense manga with so many unpredictable twists that can lock your mind into a brain storming world. Every chapter feels so moving that it might give a headache everytime you read it(Good and bad thing)
But the ending isn't as great as it is. While you read it up to it's climax(You know who dies) it starts to go down hill and the characters changed from a person to expect lots of good deeds to pathetic insane beings.

Pretty intense story. It was a really good read. Artwork was great, and the depth and detail going into explaining Light's motives, movements, and the such was amazing. It just kept going strong, though I felt it lost a lot of momentum about halfway through. The second half of the story had a few flaws that I didn't like. It seemed Light lost a lot of his touch, eh? And Mellow and Near just... I disliked them a lot. It was still a great read, and L is a great character. So much mystery surrounds him and the rivalry between him and Light/Kira is monumental.
A must read. Top of the notch for Mystery manga. I'd recommend Spiral too if the Mystery part specifically intrigues you.

Well... This was the first Anime I ever watched putting aside Pokemon and I found it amazingly intense you see millions of people doing Cosplay of this and also I have seen people on the news getting suspended because they pretended to have a Death Note and thinking it can kill. People talk to themselves thinking they have a Shingami. But to be honest this universe is so huge so there might be different beings that live in this universe so it might be true that Shinigami exist but its logically its impossible. You saw L's reaction right? So many people feel so strongly about Death Note. I do. I really was impressed. Kira AKA Yagami Light was moved by this power to kill just by using ink from a pen but inside this game is childish and he said himself he was bored. I believe in what Kira was doing but in ways I did not. After it didn't show that he was getting nervous when the Police came after him and the FBI was probing the NPA but he was really nervous so he just killed off 'innocent' people who wanted to stop Kira and people who were really trying to help him. I found that the Police will never stop wanting to catch Kira he was a mass murderer so there isn't a halt to any fo it but then he could stop. Light could stop at any moment but he wont because he feels as if a god even if people oppose of him he will try and kill them that shows how childish he is. But Light had some good intentions but he pointed those intentions in the wrong way. He could still stop evil he was going to become a Police Officer anyway. I found some scenes he was actually himself which made me and probably other readers think. I guess the Death Note really does just bring misfortune but for Light it was different but as the books and the Episodes went on you started to notice his unhappiness and misfortune. It all went under in the end. The plot twist were thought through very well.
