I definitely agree with MaZzAx about the ending being disappointing and rushed. (And then there's the omake that seems to have been cut off...?) Almost nothing was actually explained in the end at all. It would really make me wonder if the manga got cancelled or something, if it wasn't for the fact that some of the other things plot-wise were also kind of weird.
But, Tanaka-sensei's strengths (at least for me) are the characters, the romantic moments, and the artwork, all of which are absolutely top-notch in this series, just as I've come to expect! It's just the writing and plot-work that I found rather lacking in Sailor Fuku. It was still worth reading, though, if for nothing else, the multitude of hot shirtless guy moments that seem to come up rather a lot for a non-swim-club manga.

For example, Hina's powers and why she sometimes gets drained were never really explained; I felt Kou's presence in the story, while delightful, was not justified either; and finally, even though literally every character involved in the story knew Shishi's backstory, none one of them was willing to share it with the main protagonist -- but they WERE happy to give her a drink and set her up with a magic pillow so she could get the story from the god inside her.

I was hooked and I really couldn't stop myself from reading this story. Each chapter ends in a way that makes you yearn for more; even the last chapter manages to do that. The character development and story were great for just a 4 volume manga and you just fall in love with them. I believe this was truly a wonderful story about morality, innocent love, and supernatural goodness =) I hope everyone gets the chance to read this amazing story!

So the manga was really great, the characters were likeable the heroine wasn't annoying and there were none of those jealous female characters that plot against the main character and ruin things which is always an annoying feature of a shoujo-ish manga.
But I couldn't give this one 10/10 because of the ending. It felt rushed and I was waiting for the big romantic finish and all it had was a page or two of vague pictures showing you how things ended up. In fact, as I write this I can't even remember if there was a kiss or not because the big finale didn't leave much of an impact.
To sum it up - excellent manga, disappointing finish. But I'm not surprised, this seems to be a recurring failure for mangaka. Maybe they are trying to be clever and are missing the purpose of a good story?
But yeah read it though it's good.

Idea behind this story is interesting, and had it been told in a way thats not so confusing, it would have been enjoyable. However due to a variety of problems, you can hardly even follow the story. Key moments pass, and you're like wtf just happened? Go back and reread it and still don't get it.
While I like the characters, particularly the female character and her initial reaction, the story is so hard to follow and incomprehensible, that its hard to get into this. Add in the fact that the scanalators used ridiculously small fonts constantly, so that you have to use a magnifying glass to read a lot of it, and it becomes almost a chore to read.
So, good idea, poorly carried out.

I for one really liked the manga. Tanaka Meca has visually appealing shoujo-style art, and he's a GUY to boot! Not trying to be sexist or anything, I just assumed that all male mangaka did ecchi or shounen works. This mangaka certainly proved me wrong however. He makes his guys hot, and his female leads NOT annoying. Not to mention the romance that goes on in his mangas. There's enough to make any hardcore shoujo-fangirl's heart pound!
It's super interesting

Don't be put of by the description....Actually this manga is really enjoyable^^
Actually at first, it was kind of confusing with all the fantasy(I'm not used to this kind of genre) but as the manga progress, you can grasp what it's about...The plot thickens further in the story...it's wonderful and riveting...and also it have this kind of deep thing going on...the art is really good and great(haha I don't know what to say..you just have to find out yourself)......the characters are really well-made and interesting..there's so much more to know about them...each have their own unique story...Shishi(the black komainu) soo reminded me of Kyo from Fruits Basket...with his not too friendly/harsh but not too harsh/easily get mad personality...the main girl is...well...admirable....she's may be having ordinary looks but she's funny and cute :3 and really care her friends..did I mention that she also responsible with her 'job' later on
If you find that the earlier chp is a bit..uuhh >_> DON'T STOP reading, just continue...I assure you, it'll get interesting in 4th or so chp..even the translator said so and I agree..the manga got me captivated when I reach chp 4
