i agree with darkgenio, this one could be great. i hope it keeps up to the quality it is showing right now...it has great artwork, excellent fighting scenes, interesting plot, and intensifying character development..

In my opinion this manga has the potential to surpass the series I cherished most so far. For the level of tension built up by the ingenious storytelling makes me anticipate the next release of this series much more than of any other right now.

Well i gotta say, i havent even started reading this manga yet, but after reading that description i just gotta do it. I'm from Norway, and the tales of the Vikings are just ordinary here. + Askeladd(en) is a guy from a folktale, my fathers name is Thorfinn. gets me laughing

Man, I thought Prince Canute was a girl!!, Really he hoped he was a girl oh well lol, and yeah his change was amazing in mere few chapters from a whimp to Aji Tae(ruthless killer from shin angyo onshi). Thorfinn reminds me of Kenji from Eden manga, I bet he will grow even stronger, can't wait for next chapters!!
Excellent in every aspect, a definite worth read. Don't be turned off by the obscure genre and setting. Yukimura manages to bring out the core concepts of philosophy behind love. If you've read Planetes, the subject will not be unfamiliar. Beautifully drawn, and eloquently written.

Great storytelling, great art, wonderful characters.
I was really hesitant to read this Manga because I Studied the Vikings in College. I figured this series was just some cheap "Vikings are Bad, Grrr" kind of Manga. It's not. I was Pleasantly surprised and I enjoyed every minute of reading this series (as I write this its not complete yet) and look forward to reading even more as its Scanlated.
The Art is Top notch, absolutely Gorgeous in its Execution.
The Story is Based on the REAL occurences in the 11th century, Down to the Feelings of the Christians towards the "Heathens" and the way the Vikings felt to toward the "Cowardly Christians".
This story has it all, in all one of the Best Manga I have EVER read.

Well, I was enjoying it at first, with interesting characters, story, and good art. I'm usually okay with unsympathetic characters too, but I kind of started to detest Thorfinn after
So, if you don't have any problem with that kind of character, then I would definitely recommend the manga, but for anyone else... maybe you're better off reading something else.
