Description
Shinozaki Mikoto is a student whose life is really routine. Going to school, going home, going to school, going home. Nothing changes until the day the girl he likes talks to him and introduces him to cycling. His life now has a new meaning, and a bright path has shown itself to Shinozaki. Experiencing both failure and success throughout his training, he works hard to become the best cyclist in the world.

has anyone seen the anime yet? i was wondering if the manga continues on from where the anime stopped? i was disappointed with the ending and hoping that the manga continues with the story. nonetheless i love overdrive (as anime and manga) =D
too funny, too much best, sport manga i read so far, this guy is such an idiot no way a girl could get interst in him but although he never get rid of his "funny" side, trough hard work he learns a lot of things and like a real man he does what he has to do

It's true Shinozaki Mikoto IS stupid, with no common sense whatsoever. Sometimes it's too much, his stupidity, i mean. And it's not like he gets the girls, cool, popular, or even worth looking at in school, but the manga is NOT mainly about how he get common sense or that, it is about him loving to ride and race with all his heart. Now THAT'S important, like screaming to the viewers and telling them to go out and do something just as cool.
Again --- 10/10 a must buy, read, and watch!!!

this is the best sports manga i have ever read!! well, it's true shinozaki is pretty idiotic, but he gets a lot cooler as it goes on. the only problem is that the scan group seems to have stopped scanning.....T T hope they're still scanning it....i need more OVER DRIVE!!!

He is not simply weak or unlucky or not smart enough, he is irritatingly stupid.
It's usual in sport manga the main character beiing uncool and ignorant about the sport the manga is about, but this is too much.
Therefore it is unrealistic for the girl to become interested in him.
I still have hopes that he will reform himself through the sport training and races, and he won't just become better at cycling, but he will get some common sense too.
