Honestly, I started this when it was relatively new so I waited weekly for updates and came to a point where I stop to read at the end of the month instead since it was mostly funny.

Melissa has a way of sometimes rubbing me off the wrong way but if I think of it logically, she is mostly right - things need to be done exaggeratedly for someppl to finally understand.

The pacing is really great, considering that there were so many events yet there are only 92 chapters and I don't feel rushed. (Maybe because I initially started reading it weekly hmmm)

Side characters each have their reason for being introduced and I really liked that. It isn't just for them to show up and nvr seen again. (I like Yuri's brother.)

I've just binged roughly 40 chapters in the past 2hrs(?) and this is really well executed in my opinion. I love Melissa's personality and how she may be stubborn but she really has her reasons (for the most part haha). Nine is lovely, albeit maybe his reason for starting his feelings for her are a little lacking, but the progress is nice. Background and hidden secrets of the other charas was also revealed in a more natural manner - at the right time and place.

What stuck to me is how Melissa have stayed true to herself from the beginning till the end. She broke most stereotypes and I love her bond with the others.

Objectively, I should be giving a score of either 8.5 or 9...but I love this too much so I'm gonna give a 10 🙂

There really should be a satire tag for this manwha. That is all I have to say.

I like this, it’s enjoyable and funny! But- I don’t really like the male lead, it’s not that I don’t like cute male lead, it’s just his personality (?). Nine was so overprotective even though the MC doesn’t need protections since she’s so strong, that scene where Nine forbids MC not to run and not to train hard ticked me off. Just because he awakened (?) or something, I’d like a cute MC that support MC in every way and not forbids MC.

Melissa, our reincarnated villainess, gets sent into a predictable novel she read. there she ends up meeting all the characters she liked and... the quiet loner who's tall, dark mysterious and handsome?.. is actually a stalker who's got 0 manners and belittles his family. the intellectual self-made rich boy who's over protective and displays his love with extravagant gifts? yeah, he wont leave her alone and he wants to kidnap her, lock her up and keep her all to himself. the crown prince who's troubled, and a play boy who changes his way for the fl? he's selfish, cant communicate, a big baby and leaves a trail of broken hearts. The wild and free werewolf, who the fl tames? he has no concern for the safety nor lives of others, is a sore loser who lacks empathy.

so, our "villainess" decides.. screw this, im gonna protect the fl from these crazy bastards. i'm your #1 rival, suck it you deranged creeps. Melissa learns sword fighting to protect herself and the fl, and she's an absolute beast at it. And since there are no good ml's, she finds her own. the one man with commonsense in this story, nine, who she ends up taking on as her butler. (seriously, nine is an absolute sweetheart, he's such a breath of fresh air amongst all the original ml's from the book. i would give him the world)

and i love its take on that, so many shojo-romance manhwa display borderline unhinged behaviours from the ml's, so its nice to see something that not only points it out, but is self aware and makes fun of it alongside it's witty fl. plus the art is amazing, and god how much i simp for Melissa.

The manhwa begins super boring: with chapter upon chapter of the MC complaining to herself as the story goes around in circles, and text upon text of useless info that doesn't get used anywhere in the story, only appearing present to waste your reading time. Events are accompanied by 20+ thought bubbles from a single character that often run out the entire chapter and lead to little progress. It isn't until the mid-to-late twenties that the story begins to pick up steam; and from there on, it maintains a good pace while improving in quality... But only if you can make it through the manhwa's bad start.

It was interesting. I enjoyed it. But now i lose interest.

The start is fantastic, but I have no motivation to pick this up again. The endgame ML is pathetic, the romance is forced, and the gay bait with Yuri is sad (and she's clearly the best choice). You can have a more subservient ML without him being an annoying simp..

I started reading without getting my hopes up just like most works that have ''villainess'' in the title, but, damn, i was plesantly surprised with the whole new take on the genre and the mockery towards the male leads. it is quite refreshing and im writing this while starting to read it for the 2nd time . Try it.
Edit: it starts slow a bit but after like 15 chapters, the true nature of this manhwa comes up.

Incredibly funny with the gag scenes and ugly faces they make haha. Similar to the other commenters below me, I totally didn't expect the plot to turn out that way. Who knew the villainess would befriend the heroine? And the heroine would despise all the sh*tty MLs haha. I think what really gets me is that the author made it clear that these classic ML roles are so cliche and over used. She's clearly making fun of them. FL is waaaay too funny with her no f given attitude - I love it!

At the very beginning I wasn't sure if I liked the series because it seemed like she was just too rude and things felt kind of disconnected and weird. But as all of the shitty characters were introduced and precious Nine and Yuri appeared, this became one of my favourites. So...if you struggle with the beginning, persevere. The 4 male "lead"
characters are meant to be shit, it's basically satire on the overused stereotypical male leads in romance series or games. Also, I love Yona.
