loved it

I'm literally hooked to this manga. It's really interesting. The survival, mysteries and fights got me really entertained. And i was looking forward to the mystery of the island and such. However, the ending really bugged me. It was decent and okay, i guess but they never really explained what happened to kohei, b/c I felt he was a good character. And I also wondered who was hades. They never explained that in the end. I thought he was a major support character or some villian in the dark but He only appeared sometimes and well, who the HECK is he??
And another thing that most readers said that I agree with is the girl's boobs. Okay, that is beyond imagination. Not even realistic anymore. If the ecchi parts were gone, this manga would've been oh so perfect. and im looking forward to it if they have a anime too since this is worth having an anime.

Loved the manga despite the ending

I liked it from beginning to end and while there's some plot holes and what not it didn't take away from the enjoyment I had with it. Yes it has your average stereotypes but that doesn't matter as they were used correctly to be likeable in the story and that's what matters. The art is also good and he has enough detail in the majority of the pages for monsters and humans. The ending will make some mad as it did me but for a rushed ending it wasn't all that bad tbh.

when i first discovered this manga it got me going to the point that i ended up sleeping at 5 am, it was super amazing
until it started getting those cliche,
after that it followed with an ending which i never really like
sure they explained the purpose of the island, how it was build and how build it, why are supposed to be extinct animals are there well and alive..
but there are some more mystery left

like who is Hades - how exactly is he connected to Akira, why did he attempted to kill Akira? What happened to him and Kohei? - this is the question been bugging me like forever! ever since he shows up!

though
art - 10
story plot - 8 (cuz it went down the hill)

Yuck, horrid ending

The story was fantastic! Amazing series all the way through... except the ending. That sucked so hard it'd outrank an industrial vacuum cleaner. I think it was an obvious case of rushed/ending which left too many questions unanswered. I'd give the story itself a 9 but maybe a 1 for the ending. I'll average it down to about 8.5 since the vast majority was epic.

Answered most questions, open ending

I feel the ending was decent. above average. Most of the mysteries were explained if you caught it, and the only thing they left open was
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
what kind of world it was outside the island.

I felt very satisfied with this manga and it's one of the better ones I've read. 9/10

All I'm saying, "I hate the fucking end". Like usually to end a manga is thehardest part, but fuck now I need to read another manga to calm my anger with his bullshit unanswered question. Hopefully season 2 if there is one

Manga version of LOST.

It's LOST with teenagers, but on Jurassic Park, complete with mysteries, deaths, and an incredibly unsatisfying ending.

This is pretty much what happens when writers try to create mysteries and decide they'll figure out the answers to it later. Entire plot lines get dropped left and right, and any time it tries to answer any of its mysteries it's underwhelming. It's lack of planning or consistency is actually kind of adorable, like when you ask high school students to write short stories.

The cast itself is so big that none of the characters ever get enough development to rise above stereotypes. If you're content with the standard shounen characters then this shouldn't be a problem, but if you want your character to be more than 2 dimensional you'll probably be disappointed.

If you want a manga with fanservice, the power of friendship, and some blood this might be up your alley, but if you're interested in this for the plot I'd stay away.

Started fairly well...

This manga starts off pretty well with some decent mysteries. Like somebody else said, things began to become to convenient for all the protagonists, even for a manga. It seems only the fringe characters die off throughout the entirety of the manga, aside from the bad guys (I stopped around the chapter between 130 and 145 because I've grown to hate it). I love survival manga, but this one just keeps going and I feel I've been trolled. It's like the mangaka got writer's block and started taking suggestions from middle schoolers. I've pretty much always hated ecchi because it's so FUCKING POINTLESS. Wow, those girls have unrealistically big tits! It adds nothing to the story and the only "good" it does is rake in little pansies who can't get girls of their own that want to fondle themselves to a half-naked cartoon girl. Then there's the little boy who was posing as a little girl who apparently wishes to stay dressed in girl clothes and be called a girl's name. That character should have died long ago, but I digress...

Aside from the annoying ecchi parts, this manga drove me insane with cliffhangers that never paid off the next chapter, convenience, and the fact so many people have survived despite the dangers (hell, about half the people die from another person instead of the animals there). The reader inside me began clawing at his eyes and gnashing is teeth from this story being dragged out for so long, but I tried to remain dedicated and see this through to the end. I have failed. Otherwise, it's a good read if you like dropping series halfway through. Or if you're mildly retarded and are easily entertained.

It's no wonder groups have dropped this left and right, though...

Jumping the shark has been made an art

It was so promising. Everyone except the flight attendant is likable if a bit stereotypical. The island is goddamned terrifying. The battles have, or seem to have, real stake, especially the one with the best friend. That's where EoO hit its stride.

That arc, IMHO, was so emotionally taxing that`EnO went on filler mode for a while. It still had its genuinely interesting moments, but after the friendship bunny is out of the hat it only gets worse. Not everyone can write friendship okay? And you better not pull that over shounen fans where it's friendship power happy unite all the time.

It pains me.

Indulgent, But It Keeps On Track

Eden No Ori is very...convenient. There are many conveniently big-chested women, conveniently talented kids, some very convenient saves-at-the-very-last-minute. Everything about this story seems very, er, convenient. The ecchi is over the top and so is the action. The art is tolerable at first, but the author shows great improvement with each chapter, particularly with the animals encountered.

It has its problems, but Eden No Ori can shine when it wants to. In its most compelling moments, the risk for its characters holds weight and feels real. The setting is interesting and provides enough genuine mystery and twists for one to keep feeling invested in the characters' struggle. The characters themselves are varied and become likable eventually, given that you forgive them for a few cliche annoyances - the most important part of them is that they keep on track. The plot never stagnates and neither do the characters' motivations, which I think is important not only to their survival but also in keeping the audience interested in seeing them survive.

Good series. It has its horribly, horribly big flaws, but it moves along nicely, and I admit I look forward to seeing its resolution.
