The BAD: I'm a bit dissapointed in Hino Matsuri. The story has a very depressing mood. It's sorta like Sasuke going "emo" (as people say) in Naruto. As much as I love the characters only Yuki doesn't give up or majorly depressed (until recently) and the principle is the only one that livens up the story.
I also get the character names mixed up alot. But that may be just personal.
The GOOD: The plot is great and so is the artwork (For goodness sake we're talking about Matsuri Hino!) It's very mesmerizing and you can almost feel the characters emotions.

I don't like this manga, cause so many people around me rate it so high, they praise it, say something about handsome-boy blah blah, cosplay by many way (and althouh so many time I see, I can't help myself so sick with it, and result I find myself hate this manga so much).

I can't find anything good despite two boy vie each other to get one girl (ehe, i read only 1 volume, and don't see this again, so I don't know what happen after volume 1, but really I can't stand this plot).

Art really awesome, but I hate, and have no reason.
I can love Midorikawa-sensei art, but hate so much this manga-ka's art

This series has been one of my favorites for a while. VK is pretty good from the beginning to around chapter 37 and than it lulls for a bit but it is starting to pick up pace again (around chapter 55) and I'm really excited to see what's going to happen next.
Edit: After having finished this series, my review has changed. This series was a big part of my teenage years as I really looked forward to buying each issue of Shoujo Beat when it was released and then waiting for the manga to be released in book form once SB went away. The ending of the series was very rushed as other comments have said and I was left unsatisfied as my favourite character did not get the ending that he deserved. It was still a great series so people should check it out.

But then it starts lacking. After maybe 40+ chapters the plot becomes kinda dull and all. Yuuki who used to be one of my favorites becomes a little boring, I miss the "old" Yuuki from the beginning of the manga. The art is great though, very beautiful but great art means nothing if the story does not catch someone's interest. I hope that the mangaka doesn't drag this one out too long, somehow I feel that Vampire Knight should finish soon. I don't know if I'd like the idea of having it 20+ volumes.

I'll give it a 7 for the great art and the beginning of the manga that really sucks you in this one.

Well, I guess almost everyone who had read this series come to a conclusion...
I have lot things expected from this manga since I love merupuri so much...but everything got very confusing so I stop reading even before the big arc finished.

And I kinda don't like how yuki act she seem quite indecisive about this whole zero vs kaname things

This series is awesome for those of us who love bishies, and as the other comments denote, the bulk of the bishie gorging is at the start. But when the plot thickens, my attitude towards VK changed from wanting "just" bishies to really understanding the complicated story. Over-all nice character development, interesting plot and awesome cliffhangers.

at first, this manga was so good! i first read it when it was being serialized in shojo beat. i was wowed by the art and i fell in love with zero. it was so good that i couldn't wait every month for one chapter, so i resorted to scans. but now, it sort of lost that spark and there's nothing anticipating. yuki lost her spunk, kaname is getting on my nerves with his possessiveness and how he treats yuki. dang, let her spread her wings a little! zero continues to be emo. i'll still keep reading, despite the complicated plot.

yeah you really get hooked onto vampire knight when you begin reading it until later when it starts getting confusing. I stopped reading it a year and half ago or so~ and now i'm just waiting until the series is finished so that I can start reading it again.

Beginning was aktuli soo good. But now its just completely like ****. Nothingz happening at all. I m just reading now to see how it vl end. Datz all. Kaname getting annoying. Yuki shez k i guess. Zero being an emo all da time. wat da i mean kumon. Such a shame cus story was gud at beginning
