Well.. I think this manga is good, and a must read! I still agreed that the characters are "hollow" like what windora said... But all in all the art is beautiful....

If there were an award for "most overrated manga ever", Vampire Knight would take the cake. Seriously, I just can't believe how overrated this manga is. When I heard ppl says something like "VK is the best manga I've ever read!!", I just want to laugh out loud, I bet those ppl doesn't read much GOOD manga.
The manga starts off great, maybe the idea is not new but It did catch my attention. However, I don't like the way the mangaka process the story AT ALL. I have the impression like she just write anything that comes up at times, and try to drag the series because it's popular. The plot is boring, nearly nothing really happend, the characters are so gay and have weak developements. Those fangirls who obsessed with this series obviously because of "cool bishounen". Yes, the artwork is the only good point I found, that's why I gave it a 4. But nice artwook with brainless story is never my choice.
I say you may read this if you had nothing else to do, but for ppl who's looking for a read good manga to read, STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!!

these days you smack vampires on anything = great interests and overrated reviews. enchanting, beautiful etcetc are all great words that are unfortunately NOT INCLUDED in this manga. I hate to be so blunt but i must say that the whole manga is cliche. as for the story's complexity, well there is none. Its like trying to solve a rubiks cube thats been badly shortchanged and has only one gigantic block instead of having 3x3x3s... all in all its a light read but in my point of view its way over the rating it should really deserve.

I personally LOVE Hino's latest works! I'm so excited for chapter 45 to come out! Hino-san did an excellent job with Meru Puri and Vampire Knight is just as good!

Honestly, the only reason I read Vampire Knight was for all the hype surrounding it, and the fact that it's got vampires. I admit, I'm a sucker for these kinds of romance *cough* Twilight *cough*.

VK was quite boring at the start though, and I thought it was your typical girl-has-2-boys-after-her situation. Yuki as a character is quite lame. No offense, but she doesn't strike me as something remarkable as a heroine. And the fact that Zero is far too angsty and emo-ish for my liking was getting on my nerves. Kaname's calculating personality appealed to me a lot better.

However, things started picking up, especially the part where they explained Zero's past with vampires (sorry, fangirls, he's still far too emo for me to like him) and this whole Rido saga hyped up my interest as well.

The latest chapters, I dunno... I was like WTF? is going on. As much as I like the recent changes there are some things that are getting far incomprehensible. Like, why did Yuki's weapon transform itself into an über scythe? And I thought it was vampire-resistant?

Hopefully, before this manga ends, Matsuri Hino would be able to tie off all the loose ends in this series. It'd be shame if VK ended in a hyper convoluted chapter with tons of open plot holes and unnecessary, unexplained plot twists as well.

As much as I love VK, Kaname and Zero, the plot has honestly confused me. The first volume had me hooked and so on, but afterwards up to the latest chapters, I was like "Huh?" But maybe that's just cause I'm stupid.
All in all, gorgeous art, beautiful characters, and a love triangle that's bound to go one way or the other. If you like romance and hot vampire boys, then this manga is for you.

It was excellent at the start. The plot was interesting and the art was beautiful. In recent chapters, however, the plot is really jumbled and confusing. Add in the fact that there are so many male characters with the same hair style that you can't tell them apart anymore and you've got yourself a big mess. I'm not sure if it's going to recover, but I keep reading it with hope that it will. I'll still give it a decent rating for art and effort.

Read this a while ago and I found it pretty boring.. but I am not a fan of vampire romance stories *cough*twilight*cough* so that's no surprise there. Characters don't seem to have any depth, Zero is full of emo emo vampire angst and there's just too much melodrama (and it seems like there is potential for more!). Sometimes it's so ridiculous I find myself amused. Lol.

I am rating this a 4/10 only on account of the excellent art. (The only reason why I picked it up in the first place.) Othewise it'd probably be rated 1 or 2.

Okay, this is overall good. When I first read this, it was funny, cute, and original. Basically, it was great. I would've gave it a full score.

But now? It's like all jumbled up with different plots and not so comical anymore.

That' the reason I rated it down.

Overall, this is pretty good: the art, the characters. The bad stuff: plot. Plot affects everything. It is the base of the story. Without it, the story wouldn't a story. Just a picture book of nonsense.
