wow... much 'deeper' than the title makes it out to be.

Kurosawa just grows on you... his habit of masturbating is to make him seem like a disgusting individual, yet you quickly realize that he's a better person than most of the other characters.
they are all young middle schoolers, who are looking for themselves and their place in the world. they are all looking for self-satisfaction while at the same time to be liked by everyone else...

simple manga. short and sweet. good read.
recommended for anyone looking for a nice "character growth" manga

Amazing Series

I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this manga. The main hero is so very believable and unique in that he doesn't fill any cliche's that have been done in the manga business before. He's a guy that you don't really like or hate in the beginning but will make you shift your views of him regularly as the story progresses.

I originally thought this would just be some super ecchi title that would simply go on and on with him fapping in every chapter. Which is what I love about this manga, it is short and manages to tell a very unique (if not touching) kind of story WITHOUT resorting to cheap panty-flashes or the typical I-knock-you-over-and-grab-your-breasts scenerio. The path that the main protagonist walks is neither completely pure nor tainted as has been used in many manga before. Many of the characters have a depth to them that I haven't seen in some time. They are all seemingly realistic people that you could possibly meet in real life. No typical shoujo girl, shounen boy, angsty hero, or anything of the sort. The characters each go through their own hardships and insecurities and you just come to love them even more in the end.

Highly recommended. The masturbation scenes are not graphic to the point where it would be 18+ (the artist does an amazing job censoring) and the story is something that will stick to you for quite some time. It is a gem among the many manga titles out there and you would be missing out greatly if you didn't at least read through it once. I'll have to agree with simpleeyelid though, READ SLOWLY or you will miss a lot of the story.

I loved this...it was about masturbation...yes. but there was much more to it...it was surprisingly deep and open...a couple of parts had me cracking up...dude looked like psycho Light (from Death Note) in a few panels...but you really see the characters grow...and the story leaves you with an overall sense of hope...i want more...cus a few of things go unanswered...but life doesn't just end...so it makes it more realistic...the art is sort of sketchy...literally..but...

I highly recommend this manga!

well, I think this manga suits all the age groups, one can indeed understand something from it. e.g: I am a boy, 27 years old, and I still feel the mood inside the story and I was quite into it. This kind of story is happening somewhere sometime;
Sometimes one might stray, but our male lead comes back.
I am always wondering, whether to get along well with each other is a natural thing? If someone realizes that he has to change from introvert to more open, should he be shameful for being regarded as a "stupid" slow learner?
Somehow, I am a bit relieved, maybe it is because the manga tells that more pains are good for your better understanding of the life and steady moves towards being more mature.
a common story with an extraordinary control of timing (about what should happen), things happen smoothly;
Do nnnnnnnnnnot read it in haste! (which is what I did) you risk missing some remarkable scenes and losing connections with the leads..
that is not love, that is admiration.
an unquestionable 10 from my perspective at this very moment, although I do not feel like reading it again in months..

Since everyone was giving this story such great reviews I decided to give it a shot. I actually didn't find the title that disturbing, rather amusing and it piqued my curiosity with the fact that something that was not ecchi could have a title like that. I must say I was absolutely satisfied with the story. Great character development and the plot was carried out very nicely. In the beginning it reminded me a bit of Death Note with Kurosawa's thoughts and expressions looking a bit like Light but as the story progressed, he developed into a very loveable character. The art is a bit raw but it's still nice to look at. All in all I'm very glad I read this one.

My subject says it all to this manga. I had my doubts about it at first, however as i progressed through the story I was completely drawn in. However, it left a lot of unanswered questions at the end, but that's what makes this manga so great! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great short read.

....from a manga?
- Personally, I look for good story. OMK got it. The drawing maybe abit strange, but why not?
- Maybe it not suitable for some people with their certain standards, I would believe most people can't drop this one once they pick it up.
- Why? Please read it and answer that yourself. Some strange feelings may stay within you the minute you finished it.

Personal comment: I like this. Made me feel, think, rolling....

It is fantastic! So wonderful... I am not even able to put into words how great it is, all I can say, read it! Don't stop just because of the masturbation scenes, read it to the end, it is all there for a purpose!

This is the most well-written manga I have ever read. The premise/summary might turn you away, but if it does, then you are missing out on a masterpiece.

This 4 volume manga is incredibly intense, and the story-telling is unbelievable. The buildup from the first 2 volumes explodes into all out chaos in the 3rd, and the 4th volume provides one of the most satisfying and well-written endings you will ever come across. If I had one complaint, it would be the lack of other titles by this author, because this level of story-telling is one that I have yet to see in other mangas.

The character evolution is mind-boggling, and the first person narrative really puts you into the mind of the male lead. As the description says, this manga truly shows the worst and best of the human condition. Instead of resorting to cheap acts and exaggerations to illustrate human cruelty, the author cleverly shows the cruel effect daily situational occurrences can have on the main characters. Although the story is at times soul-crushing, it is eventually able to lift the characters out of their seemingly endless spiral, and the ending could not be more heart-warming. That, in my opinion, is the best part of this awesome manga.

The art is not perfect, the premise is a turn off, but give it a chance and you will be surprised. Onani Master Kurosawa is an unbelievable story of weakness, strength and redemption that will make you think, feel and ultimately smile.
