Description
From Storm in Heaven:
In Keigo's school, all the troubled kids are grouped into one class -- the troublemakers, the abused kids, and the scarred ones. There's a quiet kid in his class named Asato who never talks to anyone, and like Keigo, doesn't want to go home after school. One day after class Keigo cuts himself, and the two of them discover that Asato has the ability to absorb the wounds of others. What wounds will Asato heal, and what scars does he himself carry...?

Let me be frank..I don't feel anything deep reading this.
If you want an emotionally turmoil manga...this is NOT the one so don't get your hope high.
The manga only touched a tip or surface of your emotion.
It try to give you a feel but didn't go that further or deep.
No surprise because look at the number of chapters.
If the mangaka explore or fleshed out more of the story, maybe it would be a good manga to be remembered always.

Definitely my favorite manga adaption of Kiz/Kids! Wonderful art and pretty true to the story,
@yashihirou ::: Kizu and Kids are two different adoptions of the same short story by Otsuichi

Dark and deep, a very interesting read. Everyone else has pretty much summed up what I feel about this. It was not one of those mangas that left you feeling that it was a waste of time. It was beautiful in its own way.
And to Yashihiro "Kizu" means wound/hurt etc. it has nothing to do with the word "Kids"
I have never heard of that movie so I don't know how similiar it is, I might watch it though as I enjoyed this manga and if it is similiar I might like that movie too.
Edit:
I just searched the movie and I found a summary of it:
"Asato (Teppei Koike) is a sensitive young man with the ability to transfer other people's wounds to his own body. His strange healing powers lead to friendship with the troubled Takeo (Hiroshi Tamaki.)"
So yes you are probably right that one is an adaption of another. They both came out in 2008 according to Baka and AsainWiki. However, I found on MyAnimeList that Kizu was from Jul 10, 2007 to Dec 10, 2007. So I suppose this manga should have "Adapted to a movie" under it's categories. (And how did I miss it when I've scanned through the list of movies Teppei has appeared in before... -_-#)

I like the narrative and the author way of telling the story.
Friendship, special power, suffering, deep moral value. you should read this!

with the last chapter. i think this manga would be almost perfect without the last chapter. that just come out of nowhere! now, i'm not one of those person that think only tragedy can bring out a good story, but i just think the tone from the first three chapters don't match with the last one.
but it is not a total lost, the manga is still readable. the art is very beautiful, and the main characters are likeable. i just wish he cut off the last chapter and probably expend more on the power.

I disagree with vampirebanana. I actually thought the charm of the series was that the ambiguity of the background to the characters. It's interesting to be actually TOLD what the characters suffered, and why, but instead, you get a vague picture of what it is. But that's not bad. While this story does try to expand on themes like child abuse and abandonment, I don't think this is the main theme of the manga. Moreover, it's actually about general life themes(themes that include the coming-of-age, the changing of human character, etc).
It's really not too bad. It's actually kind of interesting, depending on the angle of the story that you're looking at it with.

Loved it.
I didn`t expect this manga to be so good because the story didn`t sound that intresting but once I began to read it I couldn`t stop.
I really was into it and even cried together with Asato at the end because he was so happy.
But I am sad that we didn`t got to know what happend in the end. :-(
