Yaoi hands, anyone?

The manga, Brother, has a lot of the elements one would expect from a typical yaoi. A love story with one or both the main characters conflicted/confused about their feelings, lots of (explicit) smut, attempts at comic relief during the drama and everyone’s favorite: yaoi hands. Yeah, the art isn’t the greatest I’ve ever seen, but I don’t think it nearly as bad as some make it seem. One thing I do know is Ougi Yazuha knows how to draw a good sex scene. I also enjoy the dynamics between the two brothers, a younger – trying to prove his maturity- seme and an older – more carefree, a little naive- uke. Although I do think it’s a bit strange most of the conflict within their relationships comes from

Asuka’s concern Yui isn’t blossoming to his full positional by traveling and become a tennis pro, while they barely touch on the fact they were raised as brothers. Yui has claimed to have feelings for Asuka for 10 years, but hasn’t Asuka always seen Yui as his kid brother up until their first sexual encounter?
Nonetheless this is worth reading. It’s the type of manga I enjoy coming back to for a more lighthearted story.Unexpected

The art is, well, just not my type. At all. It actually seems pretty annoying to me. And the recap in almost every single chapter were also a put off.
BUT
I have to say I really was surprised with the uncensored, brutal, and 生 nama (Japanese for raw) depiction of brotherly love. Though that's not why the reason for giving this a 8.4.
This is an 8.4 because of the
Moving on, what I did like about it was that the originality. That's hard to come by. Asuka was not your usual uke, nor was Yui your usually seme. And by usual I mean that the relationship between the two was not dominated by either one of them. This is what I truly liked.
If the starting had been done I tad bit differently I would give this a 10/10 in a heartbeat because as much as I do not like the art; the story is more important.

nearly rape scene--which is kind of humors and diffuses the situation by signalling to us that nothing serious is going to happen--but the linchpin for me is the Asuka is still not aware of his feelings for Yui, so no. This boast is not going to sail for me
. This is something which I will always put down. I do not care how many fujoshis want this but this forcefulness is definitely not okay with me. I don't understand how anyone could like the art, it was horrifying! I could only make it to chapter 3 before I had to quit, was not worth that thanks. If you have the ability to stand art like with junjou you might have a good time with this but I need necks that make sense ok
Surprisingly good

The art is not very impressive (but nice anyways) but the story got me totally hooked. I was sceptical at first when reading the summary because the plot was too cliche but the way Ougi sensei intertwined the fleeting happiness, the rousing passion and many comedies made the manga good in its own way. This manga is the epitome of the old saying "Never judge a book by its cover".

A lot of fake incest joyful reading :> Well, most of tags are according to my liking. So, smutty comedy this time... Art is very unique for this author, in a good way. I noticed that at the beginning uke had more manly features than at the end of series, he got prettier and more slender, just like having fun made him more feminine? O.K. I'll stop that nitpicking. What can I say yet, there is no deeper plot but it isn't a disturbance. Just a nice entertainment.

I don't understand all of the positive reviews. I give this a 2. And that's being generous. The art is terrible (horrible anatomy, especially the headshots. Seriously, what is up with that guy's head and neck? http://www.mangahere.com/manga/brother/v02/c002/9.html).
And there's no plot. There's something apparently going in the chapter, but it always leads to an excuse for them to have sex. Seriously?
The characters are a hella annoying, too. Girly uke that lets his behemoth-sized younger brother control him. He's either begging his brother for sex, or he's letting his brother push him into sex. His brother has jealousy issues, is too controlling, and is pretty annoying, too.
These characters have nothing to them. They're 1 dimensional; no character growth at all.
Recommended for those looking for PWP and smutty sex scenes. Otherwise, stay away and don't waste your time.

I loved this manga, its funny and has a good, simple yet interesting story. There is a lot of sexy scenes but there is story as well. Yui is cool and looks so hot n sexy when he gets mad (of course he is good looking thoughout the manga) and Asuka is so cute. I love the face expressions and the art was good. Can't wait to read, "Brother 2", I hope its just as good!
The reason why I love yaoi so much:)

THIS beautiful manga is the reason why I got into yaoi and why the yaoi world can be so amazing. All the elements that I love about a love story are here.
I mean, you have two people who grew up together from a very young age....and they fall for each other. I actually get emotional talking about this because it's very sweet. They love each other so much and people should see and feel it when reading this. I especially felt sad for Yui because he was always trying to be equal with Asuka.
I have to give this a 10 if not more! A true yaoi masterpiece.

At first it was a little weird for me, but then I settled into the story. It was hilarious that all kinds of women were attracted to Yui, and all kinds of men to Asuka (and the latter never noticed his own predicament). Lol!
The art is a bit unusual, but definitely still very pleasant (I especially love the way Yui is drawn - very lithe and interesting! And not too posy).
I feel a little bad for the younger one, since he's loved the elder for 10 or 11 years. Wow.
The characters are great together. I even love the mom, dad, and little sister (I love that the mom met the dad, decided he was the one, and snatched him up - hot), and the manager (she was badass)! And I'm so, so happy they're not related by blood (sibling love makes me uncomfortable, as I have several siblings myself, and...ew).
It's a lot of the things I love in one story! and two volumes! Yay!
Weirdly, the older brother reminds me of my grandpa with his personality (only my grandpa was more self-aware)... I'm sure that should mean something, but whatever.
