Claymore is definitely my all-time fav! I'm not sure why but I like this show much more than any shounen or seinen I've ever read( and btw I'm not sure it's completely shounen, rather something between it and seinen). I support the request to make a remake for the anime because he alternate ending was a disgrace, and I thing the mood and the sky were always darker than the mangaka intended in the manga.

To the author: Please continue your work you're performing a holy task!

Spoiler (highlight to view)
i'm wathcing anime for over 10 years now and reading manga for over 5 years now.... i came across a lot of awesome storys and epic stuff [berserk, Blade of the immortal, kekkaishi, history strongest disciple kenichi, guin saga and many more]

but claymore flashed me...i first watched the anime [at this time i doesnt know that there was a manga] i was hooked and the plot was great but after episode 22 it feeled liked a rushed ending without answering critical questions [you can#t make a story with fighter ranked to the best nr.1 and never show this person] you can't brag about 3 ultimate evil ex claymores and only show 2....... no i was angry...

but then someone said "hey search for claymore on bakaupdates" i did and thanks to the information that the stories continues with chapter 59 with a "real" plot...i began reading....and yeah i wish the story will last as long as possible if the story keeps that pace or better...i could read 300 chapters or more [please more]

claymore is awesome and please!!! REMAKE THE ANIME like Fullmetal Alchemist, 1:1 Manga port to Anime without that shitty alternative anime ending....and more seasons...yeah i know i sound like a pathetic fanboy...but thats how i fell about claymore...

[ sorry about my weak englisch]

Seinen for a shounen audience

Claymore offers entertaining, well-executed action and visceral art in the form of popular iconography. Ophelia floats with Pre-Raphaelite grace; a displaced Nazi in shades gives cryptic instructions to female warriors of Tolkeinesque elfishness; and world mythology once again finds grotesque representation in severed heads, superhuman appendages, and hybrid monsters. Despite what critics imply, originality is not required of classic storytelling or amusing diversions, and a compelling plot can save uninspired characterization (though one reviewer was wise to point out that a character-driven plot is preferable to a plot-driven character). Despite what fans imply, the mangaka’s choice of heroines over heroes merits no particular attention, except perhaps for perpetuating romantic notions of sisterhood and evoking medieval witch-hunts. Instead, Claymore’s weaknesses and strengths largely stem from its incorporation of underdeveloped storytelling styles. Part bildungsroman without the psychological insight, part political saga without the world view, Claymore is an emasculated seinen fantasy. The characters have the sophistication to fathom their own manipulation and plan nuanced battle strategies, but they still cleave to shounen notions of heroism and villainy. Oddly enough, the formula works, but as the story acquires greater complexity, a trivial strength contest between former Claymores may no longer adequately address the philosophical quandaries that arise.

Freaking amazing

Plot: Amazing, especially after you get deeper into the story. There's just so many twists and shocking revelations in it. The things you once thought were true are twisted backwards and etc. Though at first it seems rather cliche, boy meets girl, girl is cold to boy, boy warms girls heart and they go on a journey together but after that, that's when the real story begins.

Characters: Personally I love love love Teresa. She's so amazing and one of the reasons I keep reading, because Clare is Teresa's legacy after all. All the characters are interesting in their own right.

Art: Definitely one of the best artwork I've seen so far.

An absolutely epic story. Dear god I love all the characters. The art may not appeal to all, but I find it refreshing after all the shojo I read. Anywho, it's great to see a strong female protagonist (well, lots, really) who isn't ditzy or clumsy or has gigantic boobs that she uses to fight evil with. And I can always tell the characters apart, because the mangaka, unlike some other artists, has subtle feature changes in each character instead of putting a different hairstyle on the same template and calling it a day. You honestly become attached to each character. Raki, the rescued boy and Clare's companion up until Ophelia shows up, was originally the only thing I had issues with. I mean, christ, kid, grow a pair. Stop wailing. But now he's big and bad and buff... oh yeah. The plot is going in six hundred different directions but I still love it anyway.

To answer some people who have been wondering, the tragedy in this series is probably not big enough to deter you from having a good time reading it. It's mostly because of death. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone, but I will say thissaddon't read any farther if you can't handle a possible spoiler) There is death of an important character in this series, but it is very obvious and not a shocker at all. It is pretty necessary for character and plot development. There are a lot of other deaths of minor characters(you don't know them and aren't attached to them)but they aren't really sad for the most part. Though if you can't handle some blood(this manga isn't really explicit in it's gore. It will show a red stump when you cut off an arm, but not the bones and tendons inside the arm; basically it's not very detailed)and if you can't deal with people dying, this is not the manga for you.
That aside, I strongly recommend this manga to anyone who can handle a little gore. I personally loved Clare, and would have loved her without Teresa,(though I loved the development to Clare's character that she gave). I love the plot, and I even though I admit is is somewhat of a clishe, i still thought it was very well done and interesting.
This is actually my second favorite manga(and I do read and love all genres, including mature, bloody horror, extreme gore, yaoi, yuri, and the uber-sweet shoujou). This manga is second only to Skip Beat, my long standing favorite.

Atleast this comes in every month. That cannot be said about berserker biggrin

And I like Claymore much more than Berserker.

Story and art are fantastic and it seems that there will be much much much stories left in plot. So hopefully this continues for long time.
