Although they continually deny it, Risa and Ootani are more similar than they like to admit: they both have unusual heights, failing grades, identical tastes in food, and a tendency to act extremely childish. Together, they inspire laughter among their peers as a so-called comedic duo. Could the love that these two are looking for be closer than they think?

...This one didn't age quite so well

Somewhat surprising trans rep for its time (extremely minor character; FL "warns" ML about said trans girl, but they remain friends afterwards, sigh, she's adorable though), for a manga that aged like milk otherwise.
Weird romance progression, lots of will-they won't they and characters just added in for creating drama and therefore extremely hard to care about. Lot's of exes?/childhood friends/made up rivals that play their role and fade in with the walls afterwards. The grandfather arc is one of the dumbest things I have ever read, beyond stupid and almost reset everything entirely.
Some unfortunate and uncomfortable jokes (a male character gets forcibly kissed by a drunk older woman and his trauma is played for laughs; the whole Mighty arc, good god) and buckets of miscommunication between the main couple that clearly overthink but rarely communicate it.
I watched the anime adaptation ages ago and loved it, I can still see some adorable and funny moments in this, but it's really held back by certain arcs.
I'd be lying if I didn't admit to loving some of the actual romantic bits, like the bike scene or Otani and Risa helping and supporting one another, the fireworks kiss is iconic for a reason. However, their banter and one singular mutual interest can only carry the whole manga so far.
Someone phrased it perfectly, something to the effect of, it feels like the manga should've ended a while ago and just kept on going.

In the romance area it's a bit frustrating. It becomes like this that you start to enjoy the side character couples more.
It's because the female has to work so hard to win the heart of the guy she likes. Other than that the story was pretty okay.

the girl deserve a better man,she was the best
the man was a shallow jerk
i would have rated it 10 ,if the girl end up with another better man,and the main guy left in his frustrating for losing her

Don't get me wrong. This is a very funny manga and I have no complains regarding any character... Except maybe a few?
First off, let me tell you that I've been reading a lot of oneshots lately. Maybe that's why a long series tires me out sometimes? Whatever be the reason, I must admit that a few things in Love com disappointed me. Actually, I'm not a very big fan of shoujo where the girl falls in love first. I still read them though, because sometimes they turn out good.
Love Com, however, didn't.
I know this manga aimed to make us laugh, and it surely succeeded, but it's not one of my preferred types. If you are looking for a manga where the couple are always bickering and turn the most serious situations into funny ones, you are at the right place. Since most of the comments are positive, I think the manga is fulfilling for a lot of readers. I honestly feel happy at how some of the situations were portrayed perfectly. But it's just me thinking that I'm probably not going to reread this manga anytime soon.
Maybe I'll properly review it again sometime. But that's all for now..

When Haruka appeared and Otani acted jealous, I was hoping that the two main leads will realize their feelings soon enough and end up together. But man, was I ever so wrong? Risa realized it first and gave her best to confess to Otani but he turned her down. I was fine with it, thinking maybe he'll realize it soon. BUT NO! He kept being mean to Risa and pointing out how he doesn't see her as a girl. It took him two volumes to admit that he likes her. I know it was meant to be funny, and sometimes I laughed as well, but to be honest it felt very sad. Moreover, after realizing her feelings for Otani, Risa started to cry a lot, which I didn't like. I pictured her as a tall and cool girl yet my hopes were shattered. Honestly speaking, I don't dislike Otani. But it's just that he was extremely childish and mean sometimes and I couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards Risa. It's as if all he ever thought about was himself. Though later on, he did become more mature and nice. But his act when Risa confessed was horrible.
Of course he is short and he feels awkward dating a tall girl, but I think the situation for Risa is equivalent. Besides, a girl being called 'giantess' by the guy she likes and continuously being told that she is a nuisance and that he would never date her is heartbreaking enough. Even though the dialogues were said in a comical way, Idk why Risa seemed sad. Of course she would be.

The focus on comedy was great! And it was nice that their love was based on the fact that they get along well and have fun together.
I did get a bit annoyed though because of how stupid they acted sometimes ;; But other than that, the characters were very lovable. I liked all the main pairings: Risa x Otani, Suzuki x Chiharu, and Nobu x Nakao.
The friendship moments were very cute also! ♡
