Soft Josei

I don't read much josei. However i feel this josei is so close to be shoujo. The story is so soft (all others seinen, josei i read up till now are all serious plot). It's just about 2 female mangakas normal life & love. I like this manga but i feel it's just too short, only 2 volumes, and the ending is come too soon.Maybe because this is story of mangaka so story is go deep in daily life of mangaka more than build/show relationship between main protagonist.

this is the first josei that i have read without any smut!! <i hate smut> i really like the plot and the characters are really lovable too!! its nice once in a while too see heroines who are not wearing school uniforms and relationships not inside the campus but in the real world...

the downside is the ending is pretty open...but hell in onemanga they only have 9 chap so i thought that it actually ended that way <Iku with Natsuko> so thank goodness for MU for the chap update!!! i really doubt that Iku will get tired of Sakura...their a great couple..

im giving this a 9 because it was short wouldve got a 10 if it was longer...

As a josei this story is quite mature but cute.
But in my opnion, I didnt see any excited point of this girl at all. I dont get the idea why he fall for a this clumsy, busy girl. I think It's just a wish of the mangaka, lol.

This manga is so emotionally mature! After turning 21, it's hard not to feel incredibly old when you read shoujos especially when your romantic life is pretty much non existent (haha ^^wink but since the main characters of this manga are older than me (and there is no emotionally retarded scene)... I felt pretty young reading the manga. The relationship of the main characters is like a plain bun with different types of delicious sauce smeared over it XD

This manga was really good. It's quite refreshing to see a female lead who isn't immature or crying all the time (I don't think she even cried :s). The story also moved fast and captivated my attention. It was great to read about how a mangaka works, and about the stresses that come with that job. It makes you realize just how admirable mangakas really are. It was really nice to read about adults who had real lives and real careers. My only complaint is that there weren't that much "bonding moments" between the two characters (seeing as they're both busy), in that department I felt the romance was kinda lacking, but it does not deviate from the fact that this was an enjoyable read. smile

Realistic plot, lovable characters, great artwork but dissatsifying ending.

This is one of my favorite manga titles where my love for both the leads did not waver from the beginning until the end. The artwork is wonderful and though the plot may have its own twists and turns, it's considerable realistic. The characters in the story are all easy to come in terms with.

However, I find the ending rather abrupt. The ending didn't even give a proper conclusion whether the leads' relationship is due for a long term or not. Nevertheless, I find "Spicy Pink" really amusing.

I just wonder why it's named "Spicy Pink", though.

Unexpected surprise!

this was surprisingly good. I like Yoshizumi's work but it never really made me go "wow!". But this one came close. The characters are all likable and didn't fall into stereotypes. The heroine-Sakura- was surprisingly mature and has a realistic vision of herself and others. I wouldn't be embarrassed to envision myself as her. The other female characters in the manga are also admirable- like her high-maintenance friend who later learned to compromise, the main guy's sister who knows what she wants and knows how to make a guy stay put, and the other woman who was weak at first but didn't go into one of those annoying "other woman" types who tries to steal away the main guy. The main guy is nice and blunt with his words. Sakura's ex is hilarious and totally didn't turn out to be the sort of guy I expected him to be. The plot is a bit bland, but seriously, just when you assume situation will go a certain way or a character will act a certain way- there is a twist. It happened several times in the story and I was pleasantly surprised. Short and sweet with a bit of tangyness. =)

Domestic Fluff

I have always been a fan of Yoshizumi's artwork, and this series doesn't dissapoint at all. It is engaging and has some fun moments. But I do tend to agree that the characterisation is flat, the plot moves at an awkward pace, and there is a certain coldness in the way the romance flows from the main couple. I wish there was more emotion shown in the male character, but then again this is Yoshizumi we are talking about here, her male leads are always so perfect and composed! bigrazz

I thought it was ok...but it was a bit to I dunno it sort of just lacked, none of the characters had any real depth and I felt the lead guy towards the end was bordering on a shoujo cliche I just felt as a josei it lacked depth and really not much actually happens in the manga. Its good towards the end but the ending was not really all that satisfying I found it more of a shoujo then a josei.

I really loved this manga. I'm a big fan of Wataru Yoshizumi and this series did not disappoint. She is quite good at writing Josei mangas smile
I wish it was longer though....
