Description
Coil is a man whose idea of "life" is his alter ego in an online world. A place where the hearts of people come together...and it is not a pretty place. The slender spiderweb that connects their souls within this endless world brings greater pain than reality itself.

Came across this by accident. The first few chapters are a little confusing and seems like a typical online fantasy fighting manga. I was a little underwhelmed at first, but then it gets much better and I'm glad I stuck it out. A good part of the story is online therapy in this MMORPG world, but it still contains plenty of action. I think its a fairly original twist on many of these online gaming world stories. I got sucked in and read all that was available in one go. Only sad thing is that it hasn't been updated in a long time. Hopefully someone will come by and finish it, because its good and deserves to be. Needs more exposure, definitely recommend it.

Man the premise had me confused, but I kept going because of the art, and it paid off! This is such a nice manga! As always, here is a list of pros and cons for us young generation of short attention spans:
+ Awesome art! You can definitely tell from the cover
+ Very creative spin on the use mmorpgs (there is still plenty of action dont worry)
+characters are very fleshed out
-Like some other reviewer pointed out, confusing in the beginning, tried in my opinion too hard at trying to pull you in with the mystique
-plot can be confusing if you do not read the dialogue, and...
-very dialogue intensive. It does get better later on

A _very_ rare gem indeed. It is unfortunate that only ~4 volumes are translated, as so far the story and characters are quite good.
Not for everyone, but as a regular seien reader, this title is a rare find.

The main premise of an MMORPG had me fooled. I had expected this to be an action manga, but it isn't. (There is some action, sure, but it certainly is not the main focus.) It is a manga that deals with the psychology of its characters who live in a world where basically everything can be done virtually.
Basically, it deals with virtual counseling on an MMORPG.
With a premise like that, it's surprising how gripping this manga turned out to be. From what I've seen, the mangaka is very good at fleshing out characters. The main character could have easily fallen under the trope of "tall and stoic antihero". But, the mangaka makes him so much more than that. With each arc, his personality is developed more and more, and his encounters with others truly do affect and change him.
The only criticism I have now is the way the mangaka simply throws you into the world. While I do appreciate the "showing not telling" form of storytelling, I feel the manga could have benefited from some explanations of basic terms used, such as the concept of "Board"s, etc. Of course, as long as the reader pays attention, all of these terms can be deduced, so it isn't a particularly confusing. (But I would've still liked some explanation, if only to streamline the story a bit.)
Regardless, while this manga is certainly not for everyone, it is certainly worth checking out, even if only for its unique take on a common premise.
