Okay, so I know I'm a little late and it looks like it'll take me until Sept. 30 to finish my first work unit, but I'm in!! You guys just made it look so fun!

That's probably just the initial estimate. The estimates when you first start the program are always screwy. Just wait about 30 min for the more accurate one.

A Work Unit (WU) is the finished product of time spent running Folding@Home. These are the final proteins that you fold. Frames make up WU. Each WU can have different frames, ranging from somewhere around 300-5000 frames (on average). Frames are different for each WU, with some taking from 30 secs to 3 min.

Since WUs are the finish products, people who have more WU just ran the this program longer and have contributed more to the community.

That's why I said some WU are larger than others. The larger ones of course give more points since they take more time~

I FINALLY finished my first WU! I hope Folding@Home actually recieved the data, though. I still have 'none' completed on the site. I did get a new WU, and as Lambchopsil said, its much smaller, only 1250 frames. The last one was 5000 frames. This new one is called: p3850 fkbprelative_ligand Core 7b

I have a lot of encoding to get through atm so the amount of work units i contribute is going to take a bit of a hit. Should be sorted in a few days.

You should definitely be running this on your PS3. That thing is such a waste of hardware, that doing something like this almost redeems it.

Anyone knows, if it's possible to restore my username after reinstalling folding@home? I'm sooo kicking out winXP.

I would like my username to remain as it is. Still haven't got back into the top 20 I was before my 3 weeks of vacation cry
There's nothing about it in FAQ, so I'm bothering you, sorry.

You have to use the EXACT username that the F@H database has you down as (easy enough for you with "Indreju"). The F@H database will continue to add WU based on the username, but YOUR computer will not have the same number. Your computer will show how many WU were completed on that computer, not on that username.
