T_T I've been mistaken as my mother from a distance, my dad's wife, my sisters' mother...

There was even a time when one of my dad's oldest friends came over to meet us and mistook me for my mom. He came in and called me "older sister" (cuz we're Asian bigrazz) and at the moment, I was really confused as to why @_@;;

You too, huh?

I've been mistaken for my father's wife. But to make things worst this happened when I was around 14... So I don't really understand how someone assumed I was married to my dad.

On numerous occasions when taking my sister out to the movies(and at one time I went to watch a movie with my sister and she bought with her 3 more friends and the guy at the counter asked if I liked to share my secret), oh and my Father has been mistaken for my Mother's son about 3times now, its priceless especially since shes 4 years younger than him laugh

I was with a couple of friends waiting in line for a concert (the two friends were dating each other at the time) and I distinctly heard the people behind me wondering out loud whether or not we were a threesome. I was doing nothing at the time to give them that impression. I think their minds were just in the gutter. I've also had people mistakenly think I was part of a couple with both my brother and my sister, although thank god not with both at the same time. eek

I reckon. He even came up to us and told my dad that he had a beautiful wife. And as you can imagine, we had an awkward conversation trying to explain it. But then again the man was kinda old, so all is forgiven.

I've got another one to add to this thread.

A drunk on a tram thought my mom was my (lesbian) girlfriend. I assume it's cause it was Amsterdam, they've got an active GLBT community, and he was totally wasted.

It has happened to me a few times. Occasionally when I'm out somewhere with one of my siblings, and also with one of my close friends.

One time with my sister and her daughter.(sis, 23, neice, 4)
I was on a trip to london with my entire family to celebrate my mother's 50th birthday.
One afternoon the inevitable shopping day came and we were in a big department store on the childrens floor. My sis was looking for some stuff to buy and I was playing around with my niece who got a bit bored. At some point the clerk who was helping my sis said "He looks like a very good father for someone his age, good thing he didn't run out on you."
We had a pretty big laugh about it.

Another time was with christmas we went to a restaurant. Halfway into the evening, after quite some wine, the topic discussed was relationships, primarily those of my sisters (I have three). At some point my mother said, I don't remember why, that me and my 23 y.o. sister made a nice couple.
If your mother says something like that it is both funny and a bit awkward.

omg yeah ... and it was weird ... I was with my father in the car ... and we stopped somewhere so he could take a package ... and the man and my dad went inside... and the guy came and have it to me .. and he said "oh, so you are his wife ... let me tell you, you are very young" .. I was so shocked ... my jaw dropped ... that's when my dad came out and that man told him the same thing "Man, you really scored ... she's beautiful, but you sure she's over 18? " my dad was dumb folded ... he continued " Dude, your wife is just hot, does she have a sister " ...
That's when my dad said "She's my daughter " - the guy turned red and said he didn't know and he said he was sorry for hitting on me (he was 44 and I was 18 smile) ) ...

but it was fun smile)

Once as I walked down the street near the San Francisco Castro (known for being a very homosexual neighborhood) with a male friend. A middle aged man in a dress walking behind us began going "Woooo! You two are /too/ cute! I want something just like you guys have!" and he cheered us on later that day when we passed him again.

Other than that specific case, most of my friends recently have turned out to be male, so parents are questioning.
