It definitely fits and it doesn't stop there.
After he constantly amazes them, eventually they'll start having high expectations for him (even some people already regarded him as "omnipotent") and he take it up a notch by surpassing their expectations even more.
And it still doesn't stop here either, there's still more crazy things but anymore would be spoiler.
