I'm not sure what my opinion is to be honest, i never did think about it much. With that in mind I'll try to make some sense in this reply.

Seeing panties and things like that does little for me, i have no trouble finding porn if i'm in that mood. No i read manga because i like to read.

So basically fanservice sort of bug me, if there is any point to the ecchi storywise then i'm okay with it, otherwise i'm against it.

I'm perfectly fine with it, in fact I enjoy it. I like searching for ecchi mangas because the lewdness often goes hand in hand with the comedy. It's the same stuff repackaged again and again, but I still enjoy it. The same can be said about virtually every genre, drama (same drama again and again but people still enjoy it), or action (same violence again and again, especially shounens). If I am in the mood to read that type then i'll go read it. If i'm not in the mood, then I won't, but why would I bother reading something I'm not in the mood for and then complain about it? I dislike dramas so I don't go reading dramas and then complain about them, I wait until I'm in the mood for one first and then I'll judge if it is good or bad.

Ecchiness is a genre, and fanservice itself is one of the selling points of the manga. If you're going to condemn it, you might as well condemn toilet humor comedies because of the toilet humor, or action mangas for their excessive violence. Fanservice is just the ecchi's term for "selling point". If we replace fanservice with the term selling point, people would be a lot more okay with it because face it, every manga hopefully has a selling point. Whether it is the drama, the violence, or the blatant disregard for tactic or grace around extremely volatile subjects (rape, abortion, etc), it is the selling point and is targeted to such. Accept the selling point as it is, and judge it based on that merit. Don't be in the mood for a drama and complain when you're reading ecchi comedy.

Well.. I only wrote what I though.
Sorry for being ordinary, but I'm a man, and like most of us I like to look at girls. I enjoy it. I think it's only natural instinct. ; )

I really don't care. If it's there or if it's not really won't make a difference to me. I knew of the ecchiness factor before and I never read the manga. When I finally broke down and gave it a try, I liked it. "It," being the manga as a whole of course. Even when I think back now, I can really only think of two instances. The sex in the bus and the bathing scene. And the bus didn't even show anything. I realize that there were probably a shit load more of them that I can't remember.. But the point is that if I can think of a hundred different plot or action instances and really only 2 ecchi ones in the manga, then I'd say that it really isn't that big of a deal.

What about it? confused I mean, most guys liked it while girls tend to stay away from it(though it'd be interesting if there were any... cool)

Anyway, i don't think HOTD has too much ecchi in it, in fact i think most of the focus in the manga is directed toward the psychological effect on each character, so much so that we should add a tragedy in its genre. Besides in a serious* manga like HOTD, among those rotting flesh and scattered brain what's so wrong with a little bit of ecchiness here and there embarrassed .

*Yes i think HOTD is a serious manga

I think its kept to a reasonable level on the aspect of what the characters do (the way they act) but everyone seems to have a killer rack. Kinda wish it was toned down a little so that it could be taken a little more seriously at times.

It's not like it's interfering majorly with the plot at large. We're not exactly reading a hentai-ripoff of zombie apocalypse here, we're reading a zombie apocalypse with slightly perverted themes.

Well to me it does seem a bit questionable with them adding some outrageous scenes of ecchi into the series. Im not saying it's bad but just by viewing the plot and the setting it does make you think that does it go a bit far or not. confused

i agree with u, on another forum, the topic of having TOO much ecchiness in HOTD was brought up, except 95% of the ppl agreed that, there was so much action sences(yes i know im spelling it wrong) and gory ones, that ppl wont notice the ecchiness all that much compare to the action part

In any manga / anime, too much ecchiness makes it hard for me to take the story seriously.

very very unnecessary... don't know what to say. it is just not needed, come on it's a manga about zombies and ecchi just doesn't match...

It's annoying especially with Jugs (my nickname for the dumb teacher). I would like to see her die, but I'm sure she won't since she has gigantic breasts (the only reason for her existence in the first place).

So what? You can compare the ecchi with a cherry on a sundae. It really doesn't add anything in terms of flavor, just adds to the presentation, nothing more.

...the cherry is the best part

FCKING A! I think just about any half decent manga/anime has some ecchiness, it's part of the charm of the medium plus SOD doe's overboard with it where u feel your watching soft porn or something and I can't say any of has been out of place so far
