I die a little inside when I get to the last completed chapter. But I deal with it because I want to know more. I have a whole list of manga's that I am waiting for new chapters or that are still ongoing.
What is worse then waiting for new chapters is when the manga goes on hiatus or is ended prematurely. That kills me inside especially if it's a really good manga.

I seem to always read manga that isn't complete. I think I have only read to series in which the manga was complete. Every time I get to the latest chapter and I can't go on anymore because it's not out yet, my heart hurts. Then I go about promising myself not to read a series until it's fully scanlated.... I guess broken promises are my thing

yes, welcome in club. I read only completed manga usually in one go or at least in a short time period. This started way long ago, 5 years or so, when I still watched naruto. it was then, when I reached the last episode (which shocked me), I didn't watch it after that. just didn't want to wait. I never really have "reading" manga longer than a month. yay. I actually don't get how some people do it. I definitely wouldn't have so much nerve. bye. (another thing: there are SO much completed manga, I don't have a reason to start an ongoing one)

I love reading uncompleted manga, as long as releases are constant. SOmetimes it sucks when you have to wiat liek a year for teh next chapter. But still I wait, becasue its a great manga. That and I read liek 30 titles at once. Its easier than one straight mang ain my opinion.

I agree with Alice, axed/rushed endings suck. Especially in Mx0; they had a whole plot line set up and when the manga ended nothing was resolved except the issue with magic.
As for incomplete manga, it's not too bad because it gives you time to imagine what's going to happen next. Besides, most completed manga are alright but not extremely good; sometimes there are really good completed manga like FMA.

I used to avoid ongoing manga, but then there were so many great ones that I wanted to read, I just went ahead and did it anyway. Now most of the manga I read are ongoing. >_>; It's annoying to have to wait for one chapter at a time, but it stretches out the enjoyment I get from the manga, which is never a bad thing. (Unless it gets cancelled...)
I have a bad habit of sitting down and going through completed manga in 2-3 days, and while it's nice, sometimes I read through them so fast that later I can barely remember what happened. With ongoing manga, it forces me to remember what happened so that I can keep up with the story when the next chapter comes out.
There's good and bad about both, but generally, as long as it's good I'll read it (and if it's ongoing, I'll hope with all my heart that it doesn't go on hiatus or get dropped/cancelled).

With as many mangas as I read at the same time (157 as I last updated) I don't feel it.. I just go on, hop on another one and if it wasn't for mangaupdates I would forget about many - which I did before I started using lists several months ago.

you're not the only one
i avoid ongoing manga too
the only ones i read and follow are (oyasumi punpun, shamo, neon genesis evangelion, detective conan, liar game and ef-fairytale of the two) other than these, i wouldnt think of reading ongoing manga
because im not a patient person. i hate waiting for updates and i would probably eventually giveup on the story
also, because i read a lot, i would probably get mixed up in the future and confuse it's plot with another

LOl...i also hate un-completed manga --> but find myself reading them cuz the summary looks interesting and the reviews are great. And u cant possibly wait for some manga to finish. For example-->One piece. Its gonna be another 10years? maybe before it ends. LOL....
Yeah un-completed manga i can still take it if the releases are daily. However, if the release are monthly like skip beat, beserk and half prince which i dropped....i seriously cannot take it. Furthermore, for mangas like nana which is on hiatus, its even worse. Imagine u have the meat in your mouth only to have it taken away...The feeling is damn shitty.
Well, even though this is the case, i still read uncompleted mangas though --> cuz running out of things to read.Hahas.

Really? I think the opposite. I dread completed manga because of the finality of the series. THE END. NADA. ZILCH. No more chapters. Possibly no more sequels. That is depressing. With uncompleted manga, at least there is more chapters to look forward to. I know it's terrible that a scanlation group stops scanlating because of numerous reasons. I know, because I run one so it's really hard to get your staffies to produce chapters voluntarily.

I read whatever manga pique my interest, be it completed or ongoing. Most of my reading list are ongoing manga/not completely scanlated. Usually I read completed manga if a) I'm bored and don't have anything to read ('cos waiting for ongoing manga to update) or b) have enough time to read it in one go.
Waiting for update can be sucks, especially if the series is in hiatus. But well, there are other series, so while waiting, I read them instead .

I dislike knowing that the series end (especially when the ending sucks). But I also dislike reading on-going series that takes weeks or even months to translate. I just like reading a series that has a steady stream of release.

Sometimes I wish someone would smash my head with a baseball bat so I would forget everything. Then I'll be able to relive the glory days of One Piece, Berserk, Doroheodoro, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, GTO, Soul Eater, Code Geass, Full Metal Panic, Nana, Haruhi, you get the idea.

I don't avoid ongoing mangas, (because there are too many that pick my interest) but as a result I have a huge list of those, that have been frozen for a few months, if not years already, and whose end I have given hope of ever reading... And, that's quite frustrating... T^T
Hell yeah! I can relate...
