Since there are such topics for shoujo, josei and yaoi, I thought why not giving GL some spot-light.

Same question as in the others: How many yuri and shoujo-ai titles have you read? (Do you even read it?)

For me so far: (not counting the wishlist and ond hold list...)

6 shoujo-ai. (reading/completed list)
10 yuri. (reading/completed list)

(making it bigger as we speak :3)

Yeah, very few~
It's just kind of harder to find good titles, in fact any titles at all for the genre, than in let's say... Yaoi. no

Any titles you like in particular?

very true, Im not a huge fan of the genre in particular but I noticed that in the small amount of shoujo-ai and Yuuri titles there are even fewer with a good plotline.

To be honest I cant read the titles with the more explicit Yuri so I usually stick to shoujo-ai (much tamer). Among the few titles that Ive read so far I can only say that I liked sweet blue flowers and girlfriends. Both are very sweet and enjoyable stories.

Yuri/Shoujo-ai is probably my favorite genre.

These are the ongoing yuri/shoujo-ai series I'm following.
These are the completed series.
These are all the oneshots.

...and that's not including doujin.

^ indicate my favorites. The more, the better.

I'd say that Creo the Crimson Crises is my current favorite. Beautiful art and great characters.

I love yuri.I read all the interesting ones I come across.

I currently have 38 yuri/shoujo ai titles on my reading list.

And there are 46 tittles on my complete list, though that includes oneshots/doujinshi/yuri hentai that I've remembered to add.

As for particular yuri manga I love, these are probably a fair sample of my favorites:

Himegami
Shoujo Sect
Girl Friends
Creo the Crimson Crises
Octave
Strawberry Shake

Is there seriously this few people that read yuri/shoujo-ai manga? Do female manga readers really outnumber male manga readers that much? I've noticed that yaoi threads have tons of people posting in them, but yuri isn't talked about nearly as much. What's up with that?

I can't answer for everyone but it has been stated multiple times that the female population here seems to be extremely perverted.

I haven't read that many of either genre.
Yuri~19
Shoujo-ai~46
I don't have a favorite out of those, but I don't have a favorite yaoi either.

Yeah, female manga readers certainly don't outnumber male. I believe the reason for the comparative smallness of the yuri fandom to the yaoi fandom is a simple result of the fact that, the vast majority of male readers don't read the stuff.

With yaoi, I'd wager that roughly half (or perhaps more) of female, avid manga readers read yaoi. It's a significantly a much smaller proportion for guys who read yuri. This is probably explained by a number of things such as guys being less open minded, guys not being interested in romance stories of any sort, or the simple fact that the choices for shounen/seinen yuri manga out there usually try to appeal to certain male audiences (i.e. ecchi fans or moe fans) to which male readers might not belong.

Now there are a lot more girls reading yuri than guys reading yaoi it seems, but to them it always seem to be some sort of secondary thing, sort of an after thought to the yaoi, and not really worth discussing most of the time. So yeah, as a result, yuri almost never gets talked about.

Mmmm, I don't think so.
There are much fewer yuri manga than yaoi. Less girls who read yaoi read yuri as well. Those who do read both, probably want story over smut.
There are good yuri manga, but not nearly as many as good yaoi, hence, we have less to talk about.

It's not a secondary thing, just less common.
