Or even side characters. Just any pair, or more, that are well written enough that readers wouldn't think "___ didn't fall in love with ____ because they were two-dimensional bit characters who don't hold any importance to the overarching story"

Example, Mikorin and Chiyo from GNSK (or really, any relationship in GSNK or OreSensei)? Speaking of which, bonus points if they aren't in romantic relationships with other people either, or are looking for romantic partners but don't even include each other in their search, but it isn't necessary

Actually, even if they didn't begin as friends, that's good too

This is my first time actually asking for manga suggestions here, so if I did something wrong, tell me!

If you haven't already given Bleach a try, it would be a good fit for male/female non-romantic friendships.

I was actually just thinking of that. I heard that Rukia and Ichigo don't end up together and I was like "sweet, I'll give it another shot"

Thanks

Wasn't sure if you were looking for genres similar to the given examples, but if not, then I believe Helck fits your request.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro The two leads aren't exactly "friends" at the beginning, but they're definitely one of the best developed non-romantic male-female relationships I've read.
Liar Game Despite what people might think, they do not end up together.

Male-female friends without romantic nonsense are surprisingly hard to find. dead

Oh hell yeah, Neuro and Liar Game are great!

Helck has been on my radar for like forever, so I guess I'll read it now~

Thank you so much!

I agree, good platonic male-female relationships do seem pretty rare... Here are some of my suggestions. Not sure if they all fit, though.

Dragon Ball: Goku & Bulma.

Kagerou Days: Shintarou & Ene. They both already have their respective love interests, so they don't really see each other in a romantic light. Canon leans towards ShinAya and HaruTaka.

Seifuku no Vampiress Lord: Rin & Yuunagi. He doesn't have any romantic interest in her after he turns her into a vampire because master and vassal are basically like siblings to other vampires. And she has no romantic interest in him because she's super into girls.

Immortal Hounds: Kenzaki & Rin. They're not really friends, but more like enemies, though? They have no romantic interest in each other, and they make this clear to each other early on, but they're dating each other because she was ordered to infect him with RDS and he's playing along because she's a major suspect in his police investigation.

Mint na Bokura: Sasa & Noel. Okay, this is not really boy & girl though. Noel is only crossdressing as a girl. Sasa finds out that Noel is a boy early on, and after that, they basically give off the same vibes as a male-female pair without romantic nonsense. Not sure if this counts, but regardless, this was fun to read.

Tanaka-kun is Always Listless: Oota-kun & Echizen, Tanaka-kun & Miyano, and variants alike. Oota and Echizen are childhood friends, and Miyano chased down Tanaka asking him to be her mentor. There's no romance in those relationships though, because canon leans towards Echizen x Miyano and Tanaka x Oota.

Nice topic! Platonic relationships FTW.

There was a similar request a while back to which there were some really good recs, including mine. You should check it out.
