I'm looking for an understated or non-expressive SHOUJO/JOSEI/BL/GL romance - where the characters don't confess dramatically to each other (or maybe even never confess to each other), don't blush furiously in front of each other, don't act starry-eyed or love-stoned, don't shed tears over each other or cling to each other... but still clearly love each other.
I mean, think about it - in real life, most people don't do all those things. I'm pretty much the same calm person in a relationship as I am outside of it - with a few subtle changes, but it's not like I become this crazy, weepy blush-machine. Lol.
I'd like to see a shoujo, josei, boys' love or girls' love romance where the characters are similarly sensible and normal in romantic situations, and in fact are even non-demonstrative in their affections, i.e. tend not to show their feelings for each other in the usual manga ways (confession, blushing, etc). However, they can still show their affection in understated practical ways (e.g. helping the other person with domestic chores or making sure that they're well-fed and get enough rest after a hard days' work, etc). Basically, A ROMANCE THAT IS NOT LOVEY-DOVEY.
The only examples I can think of right now are Ashita no Ousama, Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume, Conversational English School Wars, Skip Beat! (the lead does wig out occasionally, but definitely not in the normal romantic ways that can be considered "demonstrative"), Kaze Hikaru (probably only non-demonstrative because the female lead has to keep her identity a secret, but still), Freefall Romance (most non-romantic, non-demonstrative and practically expressionless confession ever - so matter-of-fact that it's more like a business announcement!) and Words of Devotion (where they DO sort of freak out over each other occasionally, but they remain non-expressive about it to the degree where, if you didn't hear a tree fall in the forest, it never fell at all).
Heh, heh. I like it when the romance is almost entirely between-the-lines, even when there obviously is a romance. Just that the characters hardly ever talk about it or act like it's there.
Any more like these?
Thanks!

Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan: An ex-pianist who attempted to commit suicide 3x falls in love with a murderer on death row. Amazing artwork and storyline, and one of my favorite mangas of all time.
Heptagon: Just finished reading it. Not one of those typical love stories.

From my extremely limited knowledge of romance manga;
Wild Com. - Definitely. But I'm pretty sure you already know of this one.
Hoshi no Koe - Although they do shed tears over each other now and then, it isn't annoying in any way (and this from a person who generally finds all love-stories irritating ^^).
Fairy Cube - Though this might be too childish for your tastes.
XS - Though the description might make this sound sappy, the couple isn't clingy at all. And they rarely (if ever) blush or stammer when they're talking.
Trinity Blood - Even though I'm not at all fond of shipping- I can't help but think Abel and Esther are a couple! This hasn't come up yet in the manga, but is rather obvious in the novel and the anime.
Well- I don't think these were much good, but they're the only ones I know of.

Kingyo Sou - For some reason, when I saw your thread, I thought of this. Once you get into it a little, it's a really quiet, understated romance about a boy who is deaf and the girl who falls in love with him.
Nanairo Sekai I would actually recommend this collection of oneshots, and everything by Yumeka Sumomo. Her stories are always quiet and thoughtful. She also wrote Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan Under her other pen name.
Akagami no Shirayukihime - seconding this one. Usually I don't fall for shoujo stories, but this one is cute in all the right ways and understated in the way you're looking for.
The Embalmer - There's been no confession yet, but the relationship between the main characters is very realistically portrayed.
Anything by Midorikawa Yuki. Her stories are always realistic, thought-provoking, interesting, and delightfully understated.
