I just use CDisplay as it always has worked. I do have an extention cord on my monitor which enables me to put it on a side table newt to my couch. I frequently read from there as it's much more relaxing

FASTONE IMAGE VIEWER <----totally recommended. You can zoom in on the right size on fullscreen by pressing the forward button and the program is lightweight and free.

Only seen ComicsViewer mentioned only once in this thread, but it's a nice viewer.
Latest version is 1.25, using 1.21 here (program interface is in English for the English version).

Its selling points are right to left friendly positioning (press specific key or left click on the image and it will autoscroll: top->down->top-left->bottom-left), shortcut keys reassignment and archive support (no 7zip however), possible shell context menu item.
Its weak points are the lack of a jump function, lack of archives-in-archive support, and well, the fact it's not adapted for left-to-right reading I guess.

Otherwise Hamana looks fine but with useless transitions ^^ and CDisplayEx seems to be the good solution, being Open-source and all the benefits it can bring. I'll take a look, for sure.

I use ACD See (reading manga from zip rars etc i extract only when its necesary) and i find it the most comfortable (in option skin to black and full screen when viewing) still... something for something

1 i use old acdsee 7 bc its fastest of all acdsee but....it have problems with some kind of rar zip etc (cant show files in some archives or cant view then)

2 newest acdsee 9 open all perfectly still... its kinda slow (duno maybe its my pc or something)


still i prefer acdsee because its simple to use customizable it ables you to read mangas from archives

i ont like that CDisplay or something i tryed it once or twice still it was for me lest say ugly and hell to use it was so stiff and really hard to operate

Windows picture viewer for me...
I really don't see any problem with it. I can watch it fullscreen and i'll just press the arrow keys to switch page.

Comical. It comes with the distro of Linux I'm using.

I've always used Windows' Picture and Fax Viewer. But now that it's not in the Vista...
I don't know what to do when XP goes out of date.

I used to use windows picture viewer, but now I use two different apps, one for home and one on the go. I have tried many different ones before I found a couple I really liked. I was looking for something to work with my Vista system and I really wanted a light-weight client. Both of these have the essentials needed to view manga from any archive. Also they are have unobtrusive yet excellent interfaces.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdisplayex cdisplayex is basically cdisplay with a few modifications because it is open source software. It works smoother than cdisplay and also supports other awesome open source apps such as open office and 7zip (which is a hell of a good extracting tool by the way).

Fiew
http://www.fapplication.org/ Fiew is an awesome little client that handles zipped files in the way cdisplay does. Fiew is great because it is standalone (meaning it can be booted off of a thumbdrive), no installation is required.


by the way both of these are free and Vista friendly!
