looking for a manga where the male lead was abused in the past or present either sexually, physically, mentally or whatever but I want a female lead to be the one to come in and save him and help him get over it. no yaoi or yuri please

well someone asked me to be more specific and i think i should. please only suggest mangas that are realistic, romantic and are tear jerker. i dont want anything superficial like in shojo. but if it is a shojou, it cant be too supericial. amd it has to deal with REAL abuse. not just anything to do with bad experiences that make the male lead act a certain. clear example im looking for is His and Her Circumstances. except i want it to revolve more on the abuse

Fruits Basket -- it's a whole household of abused / misunderstood / cursed individuals. But Tohru makes them alllllllll better.

I think Orange Marmalade fits, except he wasn't rescued by the girl yet.

Maybe Boyfriend (Yamada Daisy)? Although it's all pretty superficial (I guess I shouldn't be expecting too much realism from a shoujo though).

Oyayubi kara Romance, but it's only in the last couple volumes that that all becomes clear.

Mars I read it a while ago, but I think it fits.

Not really sure if it's what you're looking for but in Girls of the Wild's the main character gets bullied and a lot of girls try to help him with his problems and situation at home.

Perhaps you'd like Hana no Namae.

Uhhh... Shiawase Kissa Sanchoume? Well... Uru's this adorable, sunny girl that's soooo innocent and happy! Shindou-san tends to keep to himself due to his past...

Iris Zero could work, she doesn't intentionally help him, but he starts to not care about the bullying

Acid Town it's a shounen ai/yaoi but it's not explicit. Just big violence.

Kare Kano
Happy Cafe
Fruits Basket
Mars
The Gentleman's Alliance Cross(?) * This one I'm not positive of, but I would count it as abused.
Gakuen Alice
Dengeki Daisy

issho ni neyou yo - Male lead was
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
physically, emotionally abused as child by his crazy mother
. He's become very attached to the female lead, and I think she's helping him?

Fruits Basket seconded. Everybody in that family has a problem of some sort. Tohru helps all of them.
