yeah some of my friends are manga haters...
in my case i read manga and watch anime, but im like: i watch Naruto but i dont read the manga, and i read Vampire Knight but i dont watch the anime... anyway i voted for the 1st option cz i woulndt watch the anime of a manga i've already read or im already reading, but after watching an anime i can read the manga.
at the end it all depends..

its not like that i watch manga or anime first. if watch anime first then i dont read manga, if manga first then no anime.

Depend on which is original - manga or anime. Most of the time the original contains the details that readers might need to follow the story well, especially when it's long series.

Oh well, I guess there won't be a Christmas poll (like "Do you hope for anything anime or manga related until the Christmas tree?" "Do you introduce people to anime or manga when giving holiday gifts?" ).

I voted going both ways cuz that's just how I am.
I initially started watching anime 1st, & I got really into it.. then I discovered mangas & now that's all I read ^_^ (Safe to say that I'm not asian)
Like others before me said, sometimes I'll read a manga & want to see it in motion, so I'll watch the anime. Other times I watch the anime 1st (sometimes I stumble upon it accidentally) then I'll go read the manga.
But most of the time, I just stick to one.
"I'll read Vampire Knight, but I won't watch the anime.
I'll watch Naruto, but I won't read the manga".
I'm the same.
