Um... like 修仙/修真. Are there any? I mean real ones, not the kind where the fox spirit accidentally meets a human or any of those kinds where the main plot isn't focused on the actual er... training I suppose? Not those dragon bride kinds either.

hero tales? it's a manga and not a novel though...

There are manhua adaptations of Jin Yong's Condor series. The ones I've read online are in traditional.

Er... if I put it like this: western fantasy = magic/mage, all that kind of stuff that's especially common in rpgs. eastern fantasy = um... you know, those divine stuff. Chinese version of heaven, fox spirits, mountains, etc? Close variety of Chinese martial arts + magic.
