I just read "Toukyou Lastochika" and i wanted to read another manga like it since it was too mushy and unrealistic yet it wasn't too tragic.
So any suggestions ? preferably with a good historic background smile
thanks :3

Oooku - the best historical manga I've ever read.

I haven't read many historical mangas, but Mademoiselle Butterfly is one of my favorites.

The romance is only a small subplot but Vagabond is one of the best historical mangas imo...

I immediately think of Kaze Hikaru when I see this topic, read it now if you like historical manga, maybe you won't like the hairstyle (many people don't like it wink but the story is definitely one of the bests, really realistic and seems to be historically accurate too

I'll just go along with historical mangas that were set in Japan, otherwise it will be rather over-loaded.
I second Oooku It's a masterpiece.
Sidooh not much romance but the manga is epic, you may as well try Tetsuwan Girl by the same mangaka.
If you don't mind yaoi Sakura-Gari
Then I'll just name the obvious (popular manga): Rurouni Kenshin
Oh, and there's Yokohama Monogatari
